I've been noticing that the glass on most Founders releases has been really off lately. Some feel like a '57 Fender Strat "V" neck, some just have a little wobble, some have a HUGE, thumb size indent, and some... well, they do this.

I came home and finally opened a box that was sent to me full of awesome brews! I was looking over what I was sending him, and noticed that the bottle of Doom looked empty. I thought it might have been the bottle that I drank, but the cap was secure and intact. I was really confused! That's when I realized what had happened. It had a bottom bottle blowout!!! I've heard of such a thing, but never had it happen to me. This blows! Why not a bottle of Double Trouble/Porter/Devil Dancer or something I can easily find?
Even the replacement bottle that I found has air bubbles in it. My .02 is that Founders DAMN WELL better find a better supplier! At least one beer in every 4-pack has a handy-capable bottle. That's bullshit as far as I'm concerned with what they charge! Get your shit together Founders! My hands aren't shaped like a first baseman's glove! How much does decent glass cost you cheap skates?

might not be Founder' fault. You have no idea how long those bottles have been there or if theyare just a bad run on glass. Along with other commodities (plastic, pulp for paper, etc) glass prices are starting to go up. Happened recently to Town Hall where they were having issues with thei growlers. You have to realize that most bottles/glassware are bought in bulk to save money and get the discount. So theymight of had these bottles for a bit of time before this issue was caght. I am sure they are aware and are talking to thier glass supplier. Cut a great brewery some slack. Let's give them a chance to make it right.

I look over EVERY guitar I buy with a fine tooth comb, new or used. I've sent back guitars to Gibson/Fender/Martin/ because of bad frets, warped necks, bad electronics, etc... Most company's/salesman I've delt with hate me! LOL! I'm a pain in their ass. Honesty is my only policy!
I understand it's only glass, but come on... have some pride!

I bought a snifter from the Founders website and it was ridiculously lopsided. After sending them a polite email w/ pictures they volunteered to send me another.. I asked if i could pay the dollar difference for a CBS glass and they told me not to worry about it and shipped me one as soon as they had stock.. they're good in my book.

man, don't take this as an argument. Much respect. But.... Founder's pride is where it should be, it's beer. The purchasing manager/whatever I am sure is aware and is in touch with EGrandstand now, or whoever they use. I am sure if you did the same as the above post erer and let them know what happened, you will be taken care of. Which I believe Founder's does a great job of that part of it, because they do take pride in it.

Did you really just compare an empty bottle to a guitar? Do you drink KBS along side Bud Light and then complain about how bad of a job AB is doing with their quality control? On a positive note, you sound like a guy I'd love to buy guitars from. On another note, biblobo8971 said it best: "Founder's pride is where it should be, it's beer." Not to say that makes it ok to become relaxed in other areas, but I know Founders well and they go to far greater lengths than most companies to ensure consistency and quality in all aspects of their business and products.

I opened the box with two White Choc's that I traded for and noticed the mess that the Doom made and moved the broken glass to the place where I was taking a pic for the Latest Haul pics. What are you getting at Yogi?

It's not like they're a new upstart, they are a well established and large enough brewery that they can afford to purchase appropriate supplies for their packaging. Bought in bulk...of course they are bought in bulk. They probably buy bottles in the realm of hundreds of thousands.

I'm sure that this is a freak thing as its the first I have heard of from Founders (which is a brewery that I love), and the op is the only one to have recently report such problems.

I guess my point is that while I agree with you that this really isn't a big deal or characteristic of Founders, but I dont agree with your justifications to his complaint.

You wouldn't be pissed off if you walked downstairs for a happy box opening event, and found that a $15 bottle and a $50 book were ruined? Tell me how great Founders is? Seriously? That's not how I make my customers happy. BTW... my customers are The Black Keys, Brand New, Twisted Sister, Wheatus, Glassjaw, Taking Back Sunday, etc...
I ALWAYS make my customers happy!

The last 4 pack of Imperial Stout I bought was bottled in bottles that weren't completely round. The glass was flattened at one of the seams...all 4 bottles
