Sarasota, FL - Cigar City?

    Where is a good place to go to pick up bottles of Cigar City in the Sarasota area? Also, looking for reccomendations on what to get and what is currently available, I'm mostly interested in hoppy stuff and stouts. I'm having someone pick stuff up for me so I want to let them know what to look for since they aren't into craft beer. Thanks in advance!

    Total Wine on University right off exit 213 (I-75) has all the CCB you can muster.

    I have not seen any Marshall Zhukov lately and Hunahpu is long gone. If you like porters, they have a baltic porter out that's pretty tasty:

    +1 to Total Wine. That's the store to visit if you can only go one place. Whole Foods downtown also has a good CCB selection.

    Jai Alai and Tocobaga are about $10 per six-pack.

    Check the dates on Jai Alai and try to get bottles that are less than a month old to get the best hop flavors. I noticed recently that some Jai Alai bottles didn't have dates -- I hope that was just a temporary thing.

    Really? I thought they've been date stamping Jai Alai for quite some time now. Is it maybe a old bottle?

    Zhukov will be around sometime in late Summer I believe. A nice way to tell if it's an old bottle of CCB is to look at the bottle cap. It seems that recently their newer bottles have the CCB logo on top, while older ones had a regular, gold bottle cap.

    I haven't been able to find dates on beers in Sarasota and St. Pete. My local Publix stopped carrying CCB so I haven't seen any newer Jai Alai to check.

    Bought some Jai Alai on Saturday and it had the date stamp on it. Bottled April 9: Fresh! So I guess the date-less bottles I saw a while back were just a blip. Good to know.
