I have an historic porter and an DIPA planned. Will blow through about a lb of hops with the DIPA and I plan to adulterate the historic porter with leghorn juice and essentia bina, will split into three after primary and pitch Brett Brux and Brett Lambicus into two and keep the third sacc only.

Anyone else brewing? kegging? bottling? drinking?...

Gonna rain all weekend, so I'm gonna fire up my smoker, and sit on the back porch( covered ) and brew.

Planning on doing atleast a BBA RIS. I got my grain crushed and mixed for it. Around 25# of grain going into that bad boy. Should be good.. I have 3-4 ounces of medium toast Hungarian Oak cubes soaking in 15 year Pappy waiting on it. Gonna get it going, so I can have some around Christmas time, and then I'm planning on doing waxed bombers of it, and nice labels and seeing how many years I can sit on them.

If I get past that beast and don't feel worn ( see: drunk ), then I have some grain I tossed together for a Farmhouse IPA of sorts.. Pilsner malt, some golden promise in there, a little honey malt, and white wheat. Gonna hop it like an American IPA, with Columbus, Centennial, and Chinook late, and then do some Amarillo and Citra in a hot whirlpool for a bit. Dry hop it with Amarillo and Columbus, and ferment it out with 3711 French Siason.

Should lend a night light, dry and easy to drink IPA with some spicy background and citrusy hops. Gonna mash it a bit higher to fight 3711, but it'll probably lose and end up around 1.003-1.005 anyways.

I will be brewing my first-ever all-grain batch - the Centennial Blonde from BeerSmith that was suggested to me as a popular brew for our 2nd annual Lobster Fest at the end of June. I'm very excited about my first foray into all-grain. I'll also be making use of the gear I got from chcfan a short while ago... and I hope it's AWESOME!

Haha, I am probably going to brew the historical porter this weekend too. And I planned on splitting between sacc only and brett c from whitelabs. Great minds think alike:slight_smile:.

I was going to refresh the conversation, I guess I still will.

doing the second step of a starter for Elderberry Wheat III.

Probably picking up ingredients for a mild (see big mild/sessions beers thread).

Also picked up a second freezer chest. Slowly but surely gathering the stuff I need to upgrade to ten gallon system. What I need most is hardest to find, used kegs. Well, hardest to find both used and in the price range that I'm willing to pay, and also within reasonable ethical standards (I'm not looking for hot kegs stolen from brewers). I've got one, need two more.

Might have to resort to checking craig's list, but I'm not in a big hurry, and I personally think there are nearly as many scammers on craig's list as there are deals.

Brewing 10 gallons of rye ale and kegging 10 gallons of saison.

Also going to work on kicking a keg of low gravity, hopped up red ale and will get cruising on the oatmeal stout that just hasn't sounded good lately (very good beer, just been pretty warm here in Denver, and I've been taking advantage of that since it seems like it finally stopped snowing 5 minutes ago).

That sounds great! I don't have any warrior or Amarillo, but I have citra. I think I need to use some of it... :grinning:

I brewed something similar a couple weeks back. White wheat pilsner and golden naked oats. Nelson to about 22 ibus and used 3711. It was great. Still have some on tap. Came out big around 7.9 abv but way easy drinker. The oats added a nice mouthfeel and flowed great with the slight berry/ grape note that paired nice with the Nelson's obvious white wine flavors

Pretty new to the whole homebrew thing so I figured I'd try out a few things on this batch( first time making a starter, flame out hops, dry hopping) before I attempt a Zombie Dust clone.
