I am surprised it was good at all. I wrote them off after Heelch of Hops. Diacetyl bomb for me.

This is Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout barrel aged in the wild turkey barrels, right? If so, I would love to try it but missed my shot when the waitress to me it was in fact not that a few months back when a local bar had it.

I enjoyed this beer, though it was a little thin I though. Anderson Valley is an excellent brewery though

On draft at Yardhouse here in Arizona. Thought it was just fine as it was from the tap and they use room temp pint glasses as far as I know.

Thought this was pretty mediocre actually. Had on tap in Philly, a bit thin, with a base beer too slight to benefit from the barrel treatment. I think this IS Barney flats in wild turkey barrels and IMHO the original is better. Not everything needs to or should go in a barrel.

Yes, it is Barney Flats that's aged in the Wild Turkey barrels. I have a bottle that I haven't popped open yet, but I'm looking forward to it for when I want an easier-drinking BBA stout.

Heelch was a style abomination.. Their Stout is AMAZING THOUGH. As ohio said, really comes to life as you sip..

It's pretty good but nothing too exciting for a barrel aged stout.

I tried it. I thought it was a bit thin and lacked any real depth. It wasn't bad, but it isn't anything I'd go back and try again.

At only 6% abv it makes me not want to try it. A BA stout should be at least +8.5%

Couldn't agree with you more. Different strokes for different folks, but I DP'd it after half the bottle. Not at all what I had hoped.

What? Why the hell would that matter? They actually do a pretty darn good job with this beer. Draft is all I have had...no bottles.

Found it to be pretty good on draft, pretty mediocre in bottle form.
