Love Child #3 - Illinois

Saw it today at a local place (tinley park). Price was rediculous @ $37.99, I told the owner (pretty nice guy who I usually chat with) that binnys Orland was selling it for $18.99 when they had it, he said distributor charged him more than that. He was pissed (or at least acted pissed) when he found out that it could be had for much cheaper. Don't know of he's doin the gouging or whoever he gets it from is doin it (probably both). I refused to buy one for that price. There were at least 5 bottles that I could see, would be surprise if they move at that price.

He also had double trouble for $13.99 a four pack, which isn't that bad, but I got 4 packs for $9.99 when I got it from kenwood back in late April.

 

hahah $38, thats nuts. I lucked out and got the last bottle at kenwood homer glen. Thanks dudes

Where are you located? Maybe we could work out an IP trade. I have 4 bottles right now, one will be opened tomorrow, one I'm aging, so send me a message about one of the other two if you're interested.

 

Thats actually an interesting post. I wonder if other places get gouged by the distributor too. I think we need to talk to store owners more often and ask about stuff like this. I usually feel reluctant to ask. I mean the guy might have been lying, but he also might have been completely honest.

 

Not to threadjack, but I've wondered this too. Does a large chain get a better price from distros than the single mom & pop store?

 

Never would have happened with Fox Deluxe. Good move to OneIllinois. Perhaps a message to Jim DeBolt is in order here.

I think this store owner is not being truthful. Either that, or there was a pricing error.

 

Was just at Des Plaines Binney's. They did not get any Love Child in yet. Did not know when it would come in.
