    J. Ryan's will be tapping Ballast Point Sculpin this coming week from what the manager told me.

Holy crap. I'm not sure what's going to be coming into the Syracuse area in terms of distribution, but the Utica area (Tri-Valley Beverage) just got a bunch of new crap. Per Marcy Beverage's facebook wall:

    RJ Rocker Black Pearle
Laughing Dog (at least Alpha Dog, Dogzilla, CSB)
    Southampton Saison Deluxe*
    Ruckus Hoptimus Prime
Uinta (at least Labyrinth, Detour, Tilted Smile
Rodenbach (at least "classic," Grand Cru, and some vintage Grand Cru)
21st Amendment (at least Brew Free or Die!, Back in Black)
Theakston (at least Old Peculiar, XB)

Anyone know if this kind of stuff is hitting the Syracuse area anytime soon? This is insane. Marcy's long been my favorite beer stop in upstate NY (granted I've never been to Beers of the World, but it sounds like they're pricy anyway and Marcy has always been consistently the lowest-priced spot around, in my experience).

Didn't see the Sculpin on tap yet. However, did see Oskar Blues Deviant Dale's on tap. Fantastic DIPA. Hope they got the Sculpin over the weekend. The waitress and the bartender had no clue, and didn't see the manager anywhere to get any updates either.

Deviant Dale's is also on tap at Blue Tusk. Curious about the cost comparison between it and J Ryan's...

Update for the Sculpin - Spoke to the manager today, and he said the beer was not delivered in NYC for him to pick up. So he will be going to pick it up this coming Tuesday. Hope he gets it this time

Hey, I was talking to a friend from Grand Rapids today about Founders Breakfast Stout and it got me jonesing for a good coffee-y, chocolaty stout (haven't had FBS so can't say it's chocolaty at all, but that's something I love in American Doubles). Anyone have a suggestion for something comparable we could get in the Syracuse area?

Only thing coming to mind right now is Green Flash Double Stout. I love the richness of the chocolate and coffee flavors in that beer. Southern Tier's Blackwater series is a bit sweet for my taste. Thoughts?

Flying Dog Kujo imperial coffee stout is pretty damned tasty, had a growler (from D&L in Auburn) but have yet to see any bottles.

It sounds more chocolaty that coffee-y, but that 9th Mad Scientist has got to show up sooner than later. Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout is another option, but I also haven't had FBS to compare

Truthball. Don't know why I've put off Cappuccino Stout for so long. And yeah, I'm looking forward to that Mad Scientist #9, I think Adam said we'd get some through Alto sometime soon but I can't say for sure.

Green Flash Palate Wrecker is in at the coop 8.59/22oz. Other Green Flash stuff is also in, and there is a tasting tonight from 5-7.

Galeville just got a huge selection of Mikkeller bottles as well as some NØGNE and new Jolly Pumpkin bottles. There are also many european brews I've never heard of.

The Mikkeller is pretty pricey, so I didn't buy anything before doing any research.
