I'm not sure where in Illinois you are, but Lunar Brewing Co. in Villa Park has it on draft as of last night.

Couldn't agree more...lots of smooth vanilla/coconut on draft...lots of not much of anything from the bottle.

Yes and no...you are both partially correct. Yes, it is Barney Flats but it has been "ramped up a bit" before being put in the barrels (as per brewer at Anderson Valley).

I was really impressed actually. I had in on draft a month ago and actually had to pound the second half of the snifter because I got a call about KBS delivery. On that note, a BA that I could actually pound? Crazy. It was very smooth, and a bit thin but that is expected at the low abv (comparatively speaking). Really nice mix of stout/whiskey flavor without the heat.

I had it last weekend and thought it was pretty good, not something I would really care to drink again. It was a little thin.

I have a bottle that I'm waiting to drink, but won't cellar for longer than a few months. I'm lookin forward to it, but won't expect too much, based on responses here.

With regards to the temp, I find most stouts need more like 30+ minutes to really open up. But this one is lower in abv and I'm also reading that other people consider it thin... So maybe only 5 to 10 is where the sweet spot is.

When I first tapped it here at work all I tasted was wild turkey and a lot of people were turned away by it so it set on tap for a month and I tried it again, was very pleased the turkey flavor mellowed out a lot and turned into a really good balance.

The only Bourbon I found in this beer was on the label. Drinkable - if it was $4.99/bottle I could recommend it. Not at the $9.50 I paid for it

I thought it was solid. Obviously not as challenging as some of the other BBA Stouts out there, but it still held its own... especially considering the ABV.

Sure it will seem thin if you compare it to the other barrel aged stouts that are in the ballpark of twice the abv...

Thought It was alright, especially after it warmed up a bit. I do like my bourbon barreled beers a bit more boozy though. Reminded me of Foothills BB People's Porter.
