I think the 4th is a good day to do this. I look forward to going, it sounds like loads of fun! Just need to figure out how I'm going to get home afterwards.

good point. I'd like to say Mother's day, but let's face it, she's probably leading the charge in drinking.

Can you explain that for me? I have a history degree and am avidly into craft beer, but I don't follow what you are saying.

My guess - on the average, we're fat. On the average, there's a sense we all feel entitled to everything we want (agree or not, that's the "sense"). And we're talking about independence day.

I think that's the connection. I wouldn't read too much into it. Fairly certain history enters the equation not at all.

I see, so the correlation is, on the average we're "fat", and therefore, the speculation is: too 'lazy' to attend a party, requiring one to ignore the fact that the average employee in the U.S. historically works more hours than others from most other countries. I guess if we're playing the projection and speculation game, that sounds like the typical "i meh america because i'm a coffeeshop barista who doesn't make enough $$ for walez on BA bc neo-con jerks don't tip enough" talk. Bam, just fit entitlement on BA in there.

I figured history might enter the equation because of the capitalized use of the word "Independence" which should be a reference to 1776, along with the use 'Murica, which has some historical underpinnings, hence why history was brought up, (i.e. its relevant to the message).

First paragraph - Yep, that sums it up. Minus the neo-con crap - baristas don't think anyone tips enough.

Second paragraph - "'Murica" has historical underpinnings?

Yes. Its how people who historically were/are 'meh' on America depict those who are American veterans, love America or live in the South/flyover country as rednecks, red staters, drink BMC, clutch guns/bibles type of disdain, wal mart shoppers, fat etc. . . It started as a way to describe people who voted for Bush basically ten years ago. Its basically a divisive, derogatory, offensive term that is allowed because the PC crowd likes it and drives their agenda.

Not all of us 'Muricans drink BMC dammit!!!

That's right bitches. I'll be in my Hawaiian print shirt with slippers on, sipping confessions and other super exclusive, rare, hoarders only beers at the luau wondering what all you Reserve society schmucks are doing on the Fourth of July.

Don't hate the playa - hate the game!

Actually I'll be at home with the family lighting fireworks, eating hot dogs and wondering why the Bruery decided to have a party on the 4th of July. But a man can dream can't he?

Hoarders-only events was part of the pitch, not just an initiation.

    Yea. Confusing complaint.

    "Other Perks:
-- Ability to purchase at least double the amount of allocations compared to Reserve Society members
-- 20% off: Allocations, other purchases through The Bruery website, purchases at the Tasting Room, and when purchasing Bruery beer at The Bruery Provisions (compared to 15% for Reserve Society members)
-- Access to special growler fills, special flights, access to Reserve Society events
-- Access to Hoarders Society events"

Having followed the Hoarders butthurt from the beginning, it's not really that confusing. People like to whine about what they can't have.

Yeah, would love to attend, but already booked some camping spots up North, and won't be making it. Though wish it were possible for me to do both, just not in the cards.

I really wish they would just pick a Saturday afternoon a month or more in advance, which seems the most rational to me for a larger majority being able to attend. However, my guess is they try to off set any loss of revenue that would be caused by a tasting room closure to the general public. I would imagine Saturday's are their busiest day for flights, tours, growler fills, etc. So they rule that out from a revenue business stand point, and pick other dates that are generally low revenue generating. So, hence we get dates like a Sunday evening (melange 3 pairing at the Provisions late last year) and the Clusterforks being on Sunday's. Why I make so few, sadly, even though I would love to attend more. Perhaps someday they will have a dedicated area or site where they can hold these events, and not affect their general tasting room operation, I know many winery's I've beem a member in do it that way.

If anyone is attending but is not using their 2nd ticket please send me a message. I'll be attending with my girlfriend, but one of my good buddies wants to come as well. I was hoping to snag someone's extra ticket from them.

    Thanks!!

Yeah, here is the list from the email they sent out the other day:

We'll have a firkin of Humulus Tropical - our hoppy lager spiked with pineapple, orange and papaya as well as a firkin of our sour blonde aged on grapefruit! Not enough? We'll also have kegs of Confession, Mélange #8, Sour in the Rye with Peaches, Griffon Bruxellois and Bottleworks XII! Needless to say, we're pulling out the stops on the summertime, fruity beers to go along with the food from Boneyard Bistro.
