Well, if you have multiple BAs all reporting the same thing, and that thing happens to contradict what your friend heard from the "beer guy" at an admittedly not-very-beer-friendly store, I think that I know who I've got my money on.

What!?!? I'm pretty sure we already cleared this up - beer guys never lie, and anyone who says they do is just pushing misinformation. Get your shit straight, son!

I can confirm that I bought a Parabola around 10 pm last night. There were 3 left after I took mine and if you have ever frequented this HEB, as a couple others and myself apparently do, then you would know not to trust what any "beer guy" out of this store says. Saying craft beer is not a high priority at this location would be putting it very lightly...

If lokieman says it's there, it's there. He has yet to steer me wrong. Plus, you have several others confirming it as well. There are tons of beer guys that don't know jack shit about beer.

In fairness to the Tech Ridge beer guy, the selection has (very slowly) improved in the past year.

Drinking a 2013 Sucaba right now. Holy Christ, this is phenomenal. Pretty sure that it is indeed on top of Parabola.

I drank one of my 2013's last night also. But I'll take Parabola over Sucaba any day. It's just a bit sweet for my taste. I prefer more hoppy barleywines.

Glad that you got to finally try it, at least! I thought that the lack of hops allowed everything to come through more strongly. It is a bit sweet, but I guess I don't mind .

Sucaba/Abacus is my favorite beer. Period.

I count myself lucky that I've had every vintage if it this year at various times this year and upon release in the past. IMHO, this years' is the best thus far.

    Strong words!

I don't think I could name a favorite beer. I might be able to narrow it down to 20. lol

When did Sucaba bottles hit Texas? I haven't seen it in the DFW area. Has anyone else seen it?

We received Sucaba during the initial Austin rollout (late February). I've seen it pop up in a few locations since then (HEB / various bars). I had some at Hopfields tonight.

Pretty sure it's long gone in DFW (at least Dallas). We didn't get much. And I got none :slight_frown:

I can't wait to crack open my bottles, but these crazy central TX allergies have killed my sense of taste this past week. Hopefully I'm recovered by this weekend!
