About 20 some of which are GWTW (rip Heavyweight). The best one by far was Sierra Nevada. In fact it was the best factory tour of any kind I have ever taken.

When I travel on business I try to plan my overnight somewhere within reasonable driving distance of a brewpub so that I can have dinner and a couple of good beers. Also, when my wife and I go on vacation our itinerary is planned for lunch and/or dinner where ever there is a brewery. My current total of visits 188. The faves (in no particular order) are New Glarus (it seemed like beer nirvana when we were there on a nice Fall day and sitting outside while drinking our beer), Three Floyds, Founders, Bell's and Shorts. The last three are on the list because they have great ambiance and great beer.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some, and I'm leaving out brewpubs for the most part, but 19 listed below. The first 3 I've been to many, many times each. The most memorable are Ommegang, which was probably my personal favorite visit... just a beautiful setting and a great tour... Allagash, nice people, lots of beer provided... The Alchemist for being so shiny and new and sort of a mecca for beer lovers picking up cases... Trapp Family Lodge is a beautiful place... Saranac was surprisingly cool too, a nice retro tour.

    Blue Hills Brewery
    Jack's Abby
    Harpoon
    Sam Adams
    Allagash
    Ommegang
    Newport Storm
    Portsmouth Brewery
    Smuttynose
    The Alchemist
    Saranac
    Longtrail
    Throwback
    Rock Art Brewery
    Budweiser (New Hampshire)
    Magic Hat
    Trapp Family Lodge

Anyone have the skills to put together a google map type website where you can put in the breweries you visited and it would put a pin in them? That's be a pretty cool way to track what breweries you have been to.

Not sure but the first brewery I visited was North Coast while going to see the red woods with my dad when I was 5, it was 5 years after they opened. And there is pics of me as a child in an old Rasputin shirt. I had no clue they existed until my dad saw me drinking an old rasputin and said he thought we had gone there once, and sure enough I apparently used to have the shirt.

I've been to around 20. Out of the ones I've been to Yazoo, SweetWater, and Deep Ellum are probably my favorite. Mainly because of the atmosphere.

42 according to my bio, but I'm sure there are a few pre-BA, and a couple production breweries without reviews.

Short's - favorite brewpub. Laid back, up-north atmosphere. Good food and wide range of beers.
New Belgium - 1st visit was months after moving into their current facility. Last visit was a couple years ago. Amazing to watch the growth.
Great Lakes - visited the Brewpub a few times and did the brewery tour once.

I could go on, but that's a good list of highlights.

Many, but my top two are probably Jackie O's and Perrin, in terms of great food, beer, service, etc. A combination of all factors.

This might induce some eye-rolling, but not being a homebrewer I generally zone out during the how-we-make-it phase of brew tours. So my favorites, in no particular order, are Heineken/Amstel in Amsterdam, Leinenkugel's in Chippewa Falls, and Metropolitan in Chicago. All told, I've probably seen a dozen breweries, and recommend doing Budweiser in St. Louis just to get a glimpse of their operation's scale.

I did Heineken a dozen years ago so I don't know how it is today, but they breezed us through the fermentation part and brought us to "product confrontation," where they sit you in a beerhall and serve you as many 7oz glasses as you can handle for 45 minutes. They also found a coed on their birthday and made them drink out of a fancy stein while wearing a ridiculous hat. I was 22, and it was perfect.

Leine's beer I have grown less fond of over the years, but there's something they've aced about their aesthetic -- even if it has gotten a smidge Parrotthead over time.

And Metropolitan, I imagine, is like a lot of small brewers: you stand in the warehouse and turn in a circle to see the different apparatuses as you sip on session beers. Simple, unpretentious. Oh, and doom metal cranks at a slightly less deafening level than at 3 Floyds (or Kuma's).

    Let me think-
    The Alchemist
    Hill Farmstead
    Southern Tier
    Genesee Brewing Company
    Finger Lakes Brewing Company
    War Horse
    Horseheads Brewing
    Naked Dove

I'm planning on going to Great Lakes, Dogfish Head, and Ommegang this summer, however.
