Last time you drank from the bottle?

I've heard someone say "its already in a glass" meaning the bottle, of course.
I've stopped people from drinking out of the glass before. A friend of mine was drinking Boulevard Sixth Glass right from the bottle, and I'm like dude what are you doing? Went upstairs in his own house and got him a glass.

I also had someone tell me that Left Hand Nitro was disgusting. I asked how they poured it, if it was a slow pour or aggressive dump. She said "poured it?"

That being said there are some beers I can drink from the bottle without feeling pretentious. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale for one..

 

Alex, since sushi is typically one bite at a time, it's actually acceptable to eat it with your fingers. But I'm with you, I cannot say no to chopsticks. I'll eat the salad that way too, and even the soup- though that's a little time consuming.

Also- I'll typically have a sip or two from every bottle, after I pour, leaving a little in the bottle to do so. Weird? Perhaps. Harmless? Yes.

 

Well especially in times like these....
If I can't get a glass, if the bottle isn't fungus loaded-screw it.

I drank the Rouge Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter thing straight from the bottle at a graduation party for a friends Master's the other day. Enjoyed the shit out of it.

 

I drank out of a can (caldera) two nights ago jamming with new friends and drank out of a bottle about a week ago (longboard lager and yuengling).

Had a few Headhunters from the bottle Sunday while out on the lake fishing.

 

Yesterday. For me, it all depends on the brewery. Some have bottles (or is it from the caps they use?) that taste metallic (I'm looking at you, FFF), so the beers need to be poured. Most breweries' bottles don't have that issue though.

 

At a couple graduation parties this past month.

Before that, while tailgating before watching Texas A&M slaughter Missouri and seeing Johnny Manzeil put a bow on the Heisman. Ill drink anything to that

 

Last weekend.

Some things I just don't feel the need to pour in a glass.

 

I saw some people drinking Rumpkin straight from the bottle at the release last fall. Now that was crazy.

 

Drinking out of the bottle/can is good for jamming. I find getting a sip from a pint glass is much more difficult then from a bottle/can when I am playing drums. Sure I could wait to the end of the song, but who the hell wants to do that?

 

The other day when I finished my last bottle of Odell's Loose Leaf Session Ale. Especially in the Spring/Summer, I enjoy drinking straight from the bottle with certain beers.

 

It's only pretentious if you're doing it for pretentious reasons.

Our Neighbors have a front yard big screen movie viewing party and they have beer/food.
I didn't want to look snooty and ask for a glass, so I drank from the bottles.

 

Last night... 16 oz. Bud light aluminum bottle at a float work party.

 

Drank a 400 pound monkey of the bottle last night.

 

If there's one thing I've been surprised by, in my "good beer journey" it's how much of a difference this makes. I can't imagine spending the money on a really good beer and then drinking it from the bottle. You're wasting half the flavor and aroma. You haven't even tried that beer as far as I'm concerned.
Still, if someone hands me a corona at a party, I'm happy to drink it from the bottle and I have a batch of homebrew right now that we drink that way because it's overcarbonated and impossible to pour...

 

If its an IPA\Pale Ale that I drink on the regular, I'll usually drink from the bottle. I prefer to decant fresh hops directly into my mouth.

 

I guess now, we'll get into a war over grammar and/or semantics. But, YOU said that golf was pretentious... or at least, that it was "more pretentious than drinking beer out of a glass". Since objects can't be pretentious, one would only assume you meant that PEOPLE WHO PLAY GOLF are pretentious.

Last night at softball. After I drank a traded-for Heady straight from the can, I pounded a couple All Day IPA's from the bottle while pounding a couple moonshots and cracking a $300 bat since it was 41F out Beer gods must not like bottle drinkers!
