Really appreciate sours. Also really enjoy hefeweizens (particularly Franziskaner and Weihenstephaner).

Any particular brews you are partial too? This is a style I have trouble finding in my area, but would like to hunt some down if I have the chance.

Besiides IPAs I really enjoy sours, lambics, Flanders Reds, Heffe's, the occasional wit, and every once in awhile a fruit beer, as well as an occasional Dubbel, Trippel, or Quad just to even it all out. Oh and the occasional Porter or Stout, especially for breakfast!

    I gravitate towards:

    (D)IPA
    RIS
    Stouts
    Imperial Reds
    Belgian Darks
Scotch Ales (aka Wee Heavies apparently)

I enjoy pale wheat ales quite a bit. Dopplebocks are also one of my current faves. The IPA variants are so saturated, I like to get out and try other styles.

Im trying really hard to appreciate the european styles. Im starting to believe that someday I will like belgian beers and hefeweizens...someday. maybe.

Like many others here I like everything as long as its tasty and well made. Generally stay away from macro stuff but once in a while ill drink a becks or something like that if offered. My inlaws are always drinking crap like leinenkugels summer shandy and that is where I draw the line. I've tried but can't do it. I was handed a bud light last weekend but didn't drink much of it; simply don't like it and see no reason to waste the calories.

Like many I drink fairly seasonally and go through phases. A few years ago I was super into hefeweizen but grew out of that. Went to a German beer garden recently where they had very fresh kegs of the genuine article and absolutely loved it. Was staying away from Belgian stuff for a while but recently had the new saint Arnold divine and an arabier from de dolle and remembered just how tasty and complex they can be. It's so fun to forget about a style for a while then come back to it and fall in love all over again!

Hefes, anything Belgian for the most part (dubbel, trippel, quad, strong dark, strong pale, dark, pale, wit, IPA, some fruit lambics), most bocks, some lagers. I don't really care for stouts or porters, and IPAs/DIPAs are probably middle of the pack for me.

I hated IPAs until I had Pliny.
I hated saisons until I had Fantome.
I hated stouts until I had Shakespeare.
I hated alts until I had Uerige.
I hated tripels until I had Westmalle.
I hated bocks until I had Aventinus.
I hated pilsners until I had Reality Czech.
I hated sours until I had Cantillon.

One great beer can change your mind real quick.

Anything but IPA. If I could get them regularly, I'd drink nothing but X Ales. A 1930's version for afternoon drinking, 1830's-style for the evening. Oh, and AK for breakfast time.

Chefs change what they eat according to the seasons. I consider myself a chef of beers. It's summer. I drink light beers like pilsners and lagers. I prefer the German, Czech, or Dutch lagers currently. When autumn comes I like to drink amber ales and pale ales. Winter brings the porters and eventually the stouts. January may bring in some märzens and other malty styles. When the Spring season comes, it welcomes anything from Imperial stouts to DIPAs to pilsners and the like.

I stay away from sours and am not a huge fan of the belgian ales, though all must appreciate their style and art. Brewing itself is an art. Although many different types and styles may be crafted, every advocate of beer must appreciate all styles though opinions may cloud vision at times.

Love Beer. Love Brewing. Love the Craft as an Art.

I don't like American style D/I/IPAs or Pale Ales. They are way over-hopped.

I generally don't like Pilsners or lagers of the golden type (drawing the distinction between golden colour and beers like Doppelbock which are technically lagers, which I *do* enjoy). My one exception to the "not liking golden lager" rule: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/23966/93622

Most other styles I will try, usually several times. It took me about 4 years to appreciate Rodenbach Grand Cru .

There is an unfortunate lack of availability of this style in the US. I think the most widely distributed Berliner Weisses are Bell's Oarsman and DFH Festina Peche. Both are decent but not extraordinary. My favorite I've ever had is Brettanomyces Lambicus Berliner Style Weisse. Kicks up the tartness a bit more than the usual. I've also enjoyed New Glarus' Thumprint Berliner Weiss and Pipeworks' Blue Lady.

Really only IPA's/DIPA's and BA stuff. Don't like Sours, saisons, and most Belgian stuff, and my wallet thanks me, the quest for IPA's alone can get weird.
