I bought the Blichmann Top Tier System with the Boilermaker pots and am very happy. The system was shipped with 4 missing brackets. I called my dealer and Blichmann over nighted the parts. I was not aware that these products were made in China. I work in the Automotive Industry and am big on buying American made products. I respect your position on buying local. Good luck.

have to ask, have you ever used them or know somebody who has? My understanding was they don't care to deal with hb'ers. In so many words, i was told to go shove it where the sun don't shine in my inquiry with them several years back when i was looking around at conicals...but who knows, that guy could have just been having a shitty day and I may have come off sounding a bit too forward with my plans.

You need to work the Toledo cones to make them into a conical - put your own ports in. They probably have had some experience working with homebrewers, might not be so good?

I wonder where Blichmann bet their cones from? Morebeer?

Never have been to the Blichmann office, but they are moving due to out growing the old place.

I like to buy American or local as much as possible. There are limits we have to live with in the hobby. I do buy malt and hops from Europe, as an example.

hopfenunmaltz, Thanks for bringing these sites to my attention. Wow. So glad there are more quality products available.
I bookmarked toledometalspinning.com/ . Very interesting. Thanks premierpro for the good word in my hunt for domestically produced equipment. American made=neighbor made. Trying to buy American as much as possible seems like all I can really do now but still enjoy products from Europe and Canada as well. Perhaps Blichmann will move more production back to the states to meet market demand.

John Blichmann was at big brew at my LHBS.

    Beer gun is 100% US.
Most of the conicals are US, some SS hardware is not, cones+lids+tubing is US.
He sources a lot of parts from Indianapolis, some from MI, Toledo Metal Spinning, etc.

The onus is in the court of Your LHBS to prove otherwise. I will also say that if they sell kits of equipment or ingredients, are those all made in the USA? Probably not.

I am a metalworker certified in culinary TIG in York, PA. I would be happy to build you anything you like. While the U.S. sadly isn't producing nearly the volume that it once did, almost any raw materials can still be found U.S.-made. If you're willing to pay the difference for materials, I'm willing to build it. If you want economy, no problem. I can retrofit a keg. If you want to spend, then that's fine, too; there are more sheet metal fab shops here than there are grocery stores. One of them is next door. We can do cylinders, cones, domed ends, false bottoms, tangential ports, man ways, tc fittings, whatever. You can design your own system. I can even waterjet your initials into the thing.
