I'm going to have to go with Skep and Skein. I know it doesn't have the history in Olympia, but it also has a great tap selection and bottle selection. As for food you can grab a great sandwich at Wally's, or great food at Apollos, or down the road is a California Taco truck. You can also bring it into the Skep and Skein. The other advantage the Skep has, other then it is cleaner, but they aren't cash only. I don't always carry cash on me. Something I know many people like is the location of the Skep, you don't have to wade through the panhandlers, tweekers, and transients just to get to the bar. Try them both out and see what you like.

I'll be there at some point this summer visiting the bro's family. Only been able to hit Eastside once so far but I dug it and would be glad for a repeat visit with a BA or two.

Eastside has gone through some interior renovation recently...looks really nice with the additional pool tables and moving their one ping pong table and air hockey to a different but better location. Skep and Skein is great as well. It is smaller but they seem to rotate constantly through their taps. Both offer great prices for very limited type brews and both serve up in glasses smaller than a pint which is nice for the higher abv brews or if you just wanted to try small tastes for a variety.

    Ohh ooh 'Lympia!
    Half as cool as Portland,
    but a tenth the size.
I miss the city by the bay.
    Home of geoducks,
    Nude beaches,
    The Eastside,
    Hippy house parties!
    So many hippy girls
    and gutter punks
    and over grown grunge musicians
    And too damned many potlucks.
That city misses me when I'm gone.

I heard y'all don't get Russian River any more? Wtf?

Only been to the Skep once. Frequented on East Side but once Libbey left it was never the same. Thanks for the input. After 1 July hit me up for a beer or five. Maybe we should do some Oly style bottle shares.

    Libbey left the Eastside? Wtf.

Also, your pulled pork is not allowed at an Olympian potluck, it must be vegetarian, kosher and locally raised. Duh.

If by homemade fertilizer you mean the black sludge from a homemade composting toilet, yes.

I miss that town. Something about a glass of TenSquared on cask and the procession of the species girls dressed as bumblebees to just make me all smiley.
