Stone Smoked Porter w/ Vanilla Bean

i think this beer is about a year old or more at this point just fyi. it went fairly quick in chicago, much faster than the chipotle version.

 

It was a one off bottling run. They may do it again, who knows.

 

Wish I knew anyone was looking for this. I put one in as an extra last month. It did say consume by September I think, but It was still very good. I think it is long gone by now. I got it in Perrysburg.

 

That beer is absolutely god awful.

It did however confirm my theory that I think smoked beers are disgusting and adding something delicious like Vanilla doesnt change the fact that it's awful.

 

i actually really liked it on tap. maybe my palate changed, but i didn't like it nearly as much out of the bottle.

 

The one store near me has 2 shelves full of this stuff . . . .

Had it one time, but was already too intoxicated at that point to really analyze it. . ..
I then bought another one probably 3-4 months ago, and it is probably the ONLY beer I've ever had that I think was infected . . . Tasted honestly like drinking nail polish remover or something . . .

BUT, if you want any......BM me, I'm sure I could send you anywhere from a few bottles to an entire 24 if you want them... I'll send ém to you for retail.

 

Never saw it in SE MI, but picked up a few in NYC last summer. I think I have one left if you want to do an IP.

Had one during a Super Bowl bottle share, I thought it was good but nothing life changing

 

I had the same reaction, except replace "drain pour" with "give the rest to my already buzzed roommate."

 

I tried to give it to drunk people and no one would drink it

 

I saw some recently in IL but I think it's gone now.

 

I believe his assessment of it was something along the lines of vanilla extract poured into an ashtray, but strong enough to keep the buzz going.

 

i got lucky and found a bottle hope its still good

Loved the chipotle but I love smoked beer. Never saw the vanilla in Ohio.
