All Hoppin Frog stuff is over priced, it's more expensive than Event Horizion, and from there it's not close.

Probably $25-30 on a guess. Down here in Florida, our cost on the cases ranges from $68 (fair) upwards to $152 (yikes!). Just did the math... $20.27/22oz retail. Love Hoppin' Frog, not a fan of the price. BORIS/DORIS are great, but I'll stick to NC Old Rasputin and STA Laika Russian Imperials for now.

In regards to their imperial stouts, could not disagree more. As noted elsewhere, exceptional quality and depth of flavor for a better price than other heavily-touted stouts.

Can't wait to try this one. I'd guess it will be $15 or $16 here in Ohio. I'll pick up a couple.

And quit bitching about their prices people. It's not like the stuff is priced out of this world. Buy it, drink it, enjoy it. Or don't buy it at all.

Not worth the price charged IMO , if someone doesn't agree I'm fine with that too . I've paid far more for a bottle, I just don't think any DIPA or Boris is worth the price. Simple .

Do you guys have any idea how small hoppin frog is? The fact that they have such wide distribution is testament to their products.

I have always been under the impression that putting world class beer in world class bourbon barrels doesn't mean you're going to get a world class BA beer as a result. I don't see how people drink Crown Royal, but thought Boris Royale was great, so I think a beer aged in Black Velvet barrels (I don't think that swill is made in barrels even, but I could be wrong) could very well be much better than the same beer aged in Pappy barrels.

With that said, the best thing to do is taste the end result, and form my opinion on it then.

It'll certainly be $20/ea though, because that's how Fred rolls. It's not a bad price to get a nice bomber at. If you want to buy 3 cases of it, and try to pimp it all over the trade forums, then I guess you can bitch about the price, but I know I won't be listening to that noise.

You guys can keep all of that Event Horizon.

Everyone's different, I think EH parallels Parabola, but that's me.

Hoppin Frog makes good (not great) beer at a very premium price. I will probably buy a bottle if i come across it but I won't seek it out or trade for it.

They make decent beer, the ipa's are good, for the money though I like Hopsickle better, and it's cheaper. I don't drink a ton of stouts, but when I do I prefer to get into my bcbs stash. I don't mind spending the $24 .

I mean if you want to talk expensive, north coast wants a LOT of extra money for anything coming out of a barrel.

BCBS is 20ish for a 4 pack. If BA Boris was 13 I'd buy it more....last I saw it was for 16. but yeah the bombers Founders has put out have mostly been awful imo.

Hoppin' Frog is notorious for having a beer being "brewery release only", and then hitting shelves everywhere. They've never had a true "brewery release only", to my knowledge. But that's not to say it will hit shelves..
