I though I saw this somewhere, but can't find the link anymore. Did anyone go to this or can confirm?

Man. I'm going to a wedding that day. Chalk this up as another reason I hate weddings...

I've unfortunately moved on from this little gem. Just too inconvenient to acquire now. :slight_frown:

I barely see JO anymore now that I think about it.

JO is a whales brah beer now. Every time I see it pop up somewhere, it's because of the twitter post and limited one per customer release at bottle shops. Not to mention it's gone in a few hours after that. I remember when it was a shelf beer you could always fall back to

My last home brew batch was Citra dipa. Another tweak here and there and I hope to have my own Citra. So I wont be needing Kern Citra anymore. Plus I know somebody who heads to Bakersfield every so often that he is able to get JO and other KRBC beers when in stock. Yes, when it's available in Bakersfield. It's getting harder and harder to find JO and others anywhere.

Yeah, well we do. Kindly provide your address and next release date. Don't be upset when we start camping on your porch at 2 am. Feel free to pass out priority tickets and hot chocolate and accept criticism no matter how you handle the situation. Thanks in advance.

    1. What is JO?
    2. I am yet to have Citra. Is it worth it to make the drive out? (from Orange County)
    3. Can anyone recommend a good place (reasonably priced) to stay in Kernville?
    4. Is there anything else to see? Any bottle shops around to grab stuff that I can't get here?

    Thanks.

    JO=just outstanding
Place to stay=kern lodge (think that's what it's called?) literally next door to the brewery.
There's tons of rafting on the kern river to be had, or just lounging by the river
No bottle shops of note that will have anything great. Most have the same kern beers available at the brewery.

    1) Just Outstanding IPA
    2) Only if you're also going out there for rafting/hiking/other nature enjoyment.
    4) Rafting when it's in season and probably some hiking, but not much else.

Some people swear by Citra as a nectar of the gods...I think it's a great DIPA and will grab a pint on the rare occasion that it hits San Diego, but I don't think it's worth the gas and hours of driving in and of itself.

JO... that was so obvious that I suppose I assumed that it was something else. Haven't seen it here though.

    Just Outstanding

Is a 6 hour round trip drive ever worth just beer?

Decent place right next door to the brewery, called Kernville Inn I think.

Plenty to do, hiking, biking, camping, rafting, fishing. Only other brewery up there of moderate interest that we can't get down here is stuff from Mammoth Brewing.

    Edit: I'm slow

Decisions... decisions... If I went, it would be a 1 day (overnight) thing - basically just for Citra (I also made the pilgrimage for Pliny in February). Oh, being a BA, what has it done to me?
