i can't stop drinking this beer. So tasty. Such skill to brew a quality lager like this. Struggle to find fresh lagers in bottles and this is as good as it gets in my opinion....true the local pubs quadruple smoked cherry wood aged wee heavy accented with juniper and spruce tips might be the one you find the best but tough to overlook something this flat out awesome. I'm jazzed that another awesome SA beer Noble Pils is going year round...would love to eventually see the same for this.

Thought this was decent. Not really something I'd buy. I guess I could see the appeal in this brew though. I've certainly had worse, but SA just isn't my thing except Boston Lager is good. I give it points for being bright and refreshing though.

I'll have to try it again, the few times I had it were not memorable.

I was impressed with all 3 of the new Spring offerings from SA, Alpine Spring, Mighty Oak, and Whitewater IPA

I was surprised how good it when I got it on tap. Ordered a Sam Winter, and they were out, so an Alpine Spring showed up. Nice citrus backbone, and some floral hops.

I thought Alpine Spring was average. Now Whitewater and Mighty Oak on the other hand, very nice.

Didn't care for it all that much in the bottle or on tap. Kind of cloying yeast profile that runs rampant in other SA beers that make them a bit cidery is the main culprit. In the bottle this was tart/spicy - on tap, really biscuity. Not refreshing at all.

I was not happy with Alpine Spring or Mighty Oak. I thought they were very boring. I did enjoy Whitewater though!!

Wasn't too much of a fan on tap, either. Thought it tasted average but slightly on the watered down side of average.

I liked Alpine Spring, which I think is another solid addition to the Samuel Adams catalog. It doesn't inspire me to buy cases of it like I would do for Noble Pils, but at least we'll be getting Noble Pils year round.

Historically, have been a big Sam Adams fan. However had Alpine Spring this past Sat. night on tap at local pub and was not thrilled. I will be getting some in bottles to give it another try / compare.

Uhhh to me this was a trainwreck of lager that illustrated every flaw possible with lager brewing besides diacetyl. The yeast was way over the top, way too sweet, noble hops butchered, malts don't seem quality. Of course I take lagers more seriously than the person just looking for something a step up from BMC.

Well, so do I... and I actually thought the Alpine was a pretty good drinker. I didn't get any of the off-flavors some of the others are talking about and found the beer pretty smooth. Maybe I'm not as critical, but given a choice I'd take this beer over the Boston Lager any time.

I am in the same boat. The brewers choice pack was fine but underwhelming. I enjoyed the Boston Lager and Black Lager more than the rest. Alpine Spring was very drinkable but nor something I would pick up. I really do not like these White IPAs that are popping up, Whitewater is all to similar. Mighty Oak was the most enjoyable out of the three.

I liked it a lot. Recently, I was more blown away by SA's Cinder Bock than this one, but it was a pleasant surprise.
