Have some great beers to share and was hoping to try some equally great stuff with locals.
I am flying in super late Friday night (still need to find a place to couchsurf close to O'Hare or downtown Chicago) and have till Monday to enjoy all that the Midwest has to offer.
Would love to make a trip with someone to Three Floyds as well (no fun drinking by myself).
If I can put together a last minute bottleshare, that would be GREAT so that I can meet lots of BAs all at once.

Input on what/where to eat and what to see/where tongonis also appreciated. Would love to see a sports game, though it seems all teams are away during the period I am there (5/31-6/4).

Thanks in advance for helpful input.

Cubs are at home against the D-Backs this weekend. Always a good time to visit the Friendly Confines. Tickets should be cheap too since the Cubbies are not doing that well. If you have plenty of excess capital and the Hawks win game 7 against the Red Wings on Wednesday there will be a Western Conference Final game at the United Center this weekend too.
Everyone will tell you to go to Revolution, Goose Clybourn, find something from Pipeworks at Binny's, visit Map Room or Hopleaf. When you get here there will be tons of options. There are also a lot of these threads that you can glance over to check out. Chicago is a great beer town, shouldn't be too hard to find something to do.
I'd come find you, but work calls all weekend. Good luck!
Oh, and bring plenty of Pliny, everyone will love you.

If you end up deciding to go to Wrigley, send me a beermail. A number of us live quite close to the stadium and drink together often.

I'd be down to go to the game....though want to ensure I get to sit with those going instead of by myself. BM me if interested.
Or if anyone has a spare ticket they're willing to sell me at face value, I'm definitely down for Hockey (would be great since it'd be my home team no matter what...from LA, but live in Bay Area). This would be my preference.

Pliny is doable, though I'd prefer to bring something you can't get year round like Magnificent Seven that I picked up from City Beer Store's 7th Anniversary last weekend.....or Pliny if you insist.

Any chance of a bottleshare? if so, where/when?

Also, totally forgot. There is a large German Festival in Lincoln Square Thursday-Sunday. Although they only serve Haufbrau Original and PBR, it's still a really fun event; and there are plenty of places in that neighborhood to grab some really great brews. Fountainhead is down the street, along with Bad Apple and Wild Goose. In the neighborhood itself is Fork and The Grafton, which generally maintain pretty solid beer lists. I'll be around all day Sunday grilling on my rooftop deck overlooking the Square. Most of my friends aren't super into great beers, but I'll have some things open if you want to stop by. BM me for info!

Now that its playoff time, Blackhawks' tickets are pretty much not available unless you go through a broker. Tonight is Game 7 in their series against the Red Wings. If they don't win tonight, their season is over. (Go Hawks!)
For the next round face value on seats start at $185 and go up from there. Maybe some limited standing room but you'll end up near $100 for one of those.

Keg's for Kidney's is going on Friday 5/31 6-10 PM. i will be there with 2 other BA guys. Just a large beer tasting over at Fischman's Liquors. Tons of midwest breweries if you want to get a taste of a bunch.

Someone mentioned the May fest in Lincoln Square, I'll be there at some point later on Saturday afternoon. But prior to that is a German pub crawl in the same neighborhood.....it's a fun time. It's listed in the events on this website. I'll be representing Wisco. Perhaps we'll see you there!

Ok.....bottleshare on the evening of 6/1 or 6/2?????
    Who is down?
    Where can we host it?
All my Great Lakes/Midwest guys I've traded with, free up that evening and let's share some of that serious shit I sent your way, and you mine.
    Walez bro.
Establish this tonight if possible so I can pack before my flight?
Excited to finally put faces to Avatars.
    Here's the cellar: http://www.cellarhq.com/cellar/chussain
Fruit Sours are off limits due to fruit fests we're having in SF that I need them for (hold peaches).

Note: yes, doing same for NY/NJ since flying there after Chicago.
Just love bottleshares...meeting new people, sharing the cellar. :-)

I am new to BA and a Philly transplant living in Chicagoland. Began trading after first DL day this year, hooked. I have galactic double daisy, permanent funeral, GI 25th SIlver Jubilee DIPA, pipeworks cascade/simcoe ninjas. I also have a voodoo lairds apple brandy gran met that I've been waiting to tap into, just hoping to meet some new BA friends. I'm in oak park (very central location) and know of a great BYOB place in downtown oak park perfect for hosting bottle shares, but up for other suggestions. Place is called Mancini's. Saturday night would work, please let me know and I can make reservation.

    Thanks,
    Dan

If I wasn't going to be on my rooftop all day Sunday, I'd gladly join y'all somewhere. But I'll not be able to host a second group of people, on top of the group already coming over.

????? Rooftop????? Doing a bottleshare? or just chilling?
I'm down for that, and would chip in for gas/drinks. Though I noticed you live in Michigan....did you mean to say meet up there?
Would love to do everything, though I think after either going to the German Festival, Three Floyds, or Wrigley Field it's better to do a share on Sunday. Seems like too much happening on Saturday and would likely get a better turnout Sunday as well. If you agree, let's go ahead and make arrangements for Mancini's to do a bottleshare Sunday at 12:30pm. If you can post to the Midwest forum the plans, we're likely to get a better turnout. :-)

Grilling on my rooftop deck, overlooking the Lincoln Square MaiFest. We have some friends coming over, that are not BAs...at all. So, not a bottleshare type event, more along the lines of just chilling.

I'm sans car, so I can't do oak park; but if a bottle share happens to find its way into the city, I could probably swing out and bring some fun stuff.

Packed some nice stuff...barely made the 50 lbs. limit.
Some top gots that I felt like opening. :-)
Looking forward to meeting you all Sunday.

Double checking if anyone wants to carpool tomorrow (sat) to three Floyd's, half acre, or others? I'm staying in Franklin park by O'Hare with no car unfortunately.
