You would probably think Permanent Funeral is a very good DIPA. You would not be impressed with Rabid Rabbit, Moloko, Dreadnaught or Robert the Bruce. You would probably like Zombie Dust, but would snicker a little every time a 22-25 year old from Illinois or Indiana made a thread about how it's the best beer EVER.

    Blah blah
You commented about the color only and that was my only point.

Moloko and dreadnaught were jokes. I actually enjoyed mutiny and the mollusk a lot, but not enough to trade for again. Gumball head was good, and so was ZD, buuuuuuuuuuuuut FFF taught me that my hype receptors haven't matured yet. Well, that and BCBS.

It's a very good beer. I buy it twice a year.

My only points are, it isn't an APA and Three Floyds are effing hardcore radical brewers who are so awesome that they are unable to conform to style. They actually did conform to a style with AK, but it isn't an APA like they claim.

They conform to the "style" of amazing beer!

That is the only "style" I need

Alpha king borders pale ale and IPA but leans toward IPA

i wasn't really 100% into craft beer at the time my gf surprised me with a bramble rye. I was sooo excited to try it and when I opened it the beer was just screaming hot booze! I don't think I got the full effect and def regret opening it. bc now I can appreciate higher abv beers like bcbs, parabola and all the other heavy hitting beers.

This site needs more Dreadnaught haters! I thought the beer was a sick joke.

FFF is very good at marketing and creating hype. They have some tasty beers, but most of their beers aren't as good as the ratings suggest. That's just my opinion, of course.

I can live with that reply from your perspective, but I don't think they make amazing beer. Amazing is such an extreme superlative and I rarely think it applies to beer. It's a word that gets used often here and most of the time I scratch my head and say to myself, "are you really sure that beer is amazing".

    It's a comparison

    one side to the other

Amazing is just a descriptor but what does it really mean

    Bud sucks - FFF amazing
Could be any number of words that mean different things to different people

My wife refuses to acknowledge that the word ginormous exists.

In all fairness, it wasn't an official word until 2010.

Wow I completely agree, I went from drain pouring some beers to coveting them. It's crazy how you become acclimated to different styles.

I remember when I first started with craft beers I would get the seasonal Sam Adams variety packs. I thought the Scotch Ale was the worst beer I ever tasted. Now I think Scotches are tasty.

I used to dislike McEwan's; it was just too much for me 15+ years ago. But I'm drinking one now, and fucking love iI. It's way more drinkable/smooth than I remember.

Yup, we humans are probably the only species on the planet that will continue to eat/drink bitter things. The whole purpose of the bitter receptors in the tongue is to deter us from eating the dang thing. But I digress.

    Time for another hoptimum.
