Sorry I'm a no0b....cut me some slack, I'm new to New England.

My Question: How does one acquire any of Lawson's finest liquids? And being in Hanover, NH what is the easiest way for me to obtain some of their offerings (namely double sunshine)?

And same question of HT. I know it has small distro around the alchemist, but how quickly does it go? Do I have to show up on canning day if I am to get any, or can I just drive up whenever?

Well shit, while I'm at it, I might as well just ask for the down low on HF goods too. So All you lovely New Englanders: what is the easiest way for a guy like me to get his hands on some HF, Alchemist, and Lawsons stuff?

Yes I am a no0b I know, but would appreciate if you could fill me in on the S.O.P. for getting some of the regions finest, since y'all have been doing this since before I was born.....

    Thanks in advance!!!

Make the drive up to HF for sure, given that you're pretty close. It's freaking beautiful up there, and hanging out in line having tasters (I think it was like 4 decent sized taster pours for $5) and chatting with folks is a great experience. Can't wait to be living within a couple of hours.

I wrote this up recently on this topic, although it's probably a little out of date now:

Lawson's: go to the Warren Store on a Thursday around lunchtime. Limit 4 pp, you'll get whatever Sean delivers that day.

HT: look on their FB/Twitter feed for canning days, and you should be ok (although they did just have their first sell-out day happen on a canning day). Back when I wrote the thread above they still canned on Thursdays and it was AWESOME to bunch the big VT 3 together.

HF: try to avoid a Saturday or days that they're closed (natch). Check their website.

So get your HF and HT on a Wednesday and then go stay in Waterbury and visit its incredible pubs and restaurants. When you recover from your awesome hangover go visit Warren to get your Lawson's.

    Enjoy!

re: HF, you're guaranteed to get beer, but it will be in a growler and you have to go right to HF.

re: lawson's, a few places around VT.

tip: the people at the alchemist are *very* nice. likely to give you the inside track on where to find alchemist / lawson's in stores.

I've never known HF not to also have bottles on offer as well as growler fills...their bottle choices on offer now are fairly limited but they still have some types on the shelves.

Best bet is to go to Prohibition Pig or Blackback in Waterbury or Three Penny in Montpelier and drink them all on draft.

Didn't we have this conversation a couple of months ago? According to google maps, you are 67 minutes from The Alchemist. I'd put it at more like a flat hour. I refuse to help with either of the other two places until you take that first step. Do you not have a car? If not, I might be able to help you out. I met a couple of Dartmouth-Hitchcock residents in line at HF a couple of weeks ago. So people are making that trip...

Worthy Burger in South Royalton usually has something from all three of them on tap or in cans. and it's pretty close to Hanover.

I would caution this could depend entirely on the day. The day I went there was a long line, it was somewhat muggy and there were tons of biting flies/mosquitoes eating me alive. The line moves slowly due to the fact it's mostly growlers getting filled and I think the most you can consume while you wait is four 2-oz tasters. The people are nice and it's certainly beautiful, though.

If you want to take some beer home or have a larger selection it's certainly worth it, but if not, it might be better just spend the day/night in Waterbury and drink what's on tap.

Well let me just chow down on my words right now.

    From the HF website:
"Hill Farmstead bottles are current SOLD OUT. "

Seriously. I managed to get 8 at the anniversary party because of a friend who joined me and didn't want his 4. Hopefully that will hold me over until they release it next.

Don't want to highjack this thread - but have a related question that applies. Heading home for a wedding and making a trip up to HF, been following the available growler fills and available bottles; I was wondering what the costs are for the other brewery bottles they have for sale? Cheers

I know the Drie Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend is $20, I think the Tilquin is the same.
