You just gotta find the right person and be a little more specific. Put a post out with a specific popular ipa in your area that people know about, and ask for specific stuff in return.. You're being a little too vague in your post.

As of right now, I'm taking a break from trading for my wallet's sake haha.

I'm basically just jealous of the people in Vermont and those with easy access to the Russian River wilds and Cantillon. Everything else I can live without.

Here in Brazil I can only be envy, because the high prices and difficult to get some beers.

I envy everybody that have the Westvleteren. (all kinds)

I envy too how easy is to almost everybody on this forum to get Heady Topper, Zombie Dust and another US beers, because for some reason is quite difficult to get US beers here in Brazil.

Why did I immediately think of Dark Lord when I read this?

OP, I think I used to be in a similar place, but lately I just take things more in stride and don't sweat it so much.
Anecdote: I was just browsing at a bottle shop today, and I happened upon a bottle of The Bruery Hottenroth—a beer that's been on my list to try for a couple of years. Another guy, who was already standing there, picked it up off the shelf and ended up buying it. Turned out, it was the last bottle the store had. No biggie, I'll find it some other time, some other place.

Enjoy what you can get, and keep in mind that you probaby have access to a lot of beers that the rest of us would like to try too.

I've learned this lesson lately. I have access to head hunter and white rajah but passed on them until recently. Now that I have had them I really don't feel like I need to spend a lot of money to have Pliny shipped to me anymore.

Thanks for the commiseration. I DO enjoy all the great beers I can get here. Just a personallity disorder. Example: I have a 76 corvette that people wave at and give me thumbs-up. Then I go to car shows where people have $80,000 trailer queens and I think "man, my car is a piece of junk!" I know, I need to shut up and feel lucky.

If you ever get the opportunity to get a ZD, you'll pee yourself in amazement. That beer is delicious.

Right on the spot! I like browsing through the "What are you drinking right now?" threads partially because people usually describe what they've been up to- mowing the lawn, long day at work, whatever. It brings a little more personality to an otherwise anonymous forum.

Now, the Latest Haul thread is something I never really have a desire to click on when I see the link. I don't know why, I'm sure its cool to look at what other BAs are hauling in but that just doesn't really do anything for me.

Best way to think of it is that you'll eventually get to try all kinds of different beers whether through other generous BAs, trading beers or just outright visiting different places in the country. It helps inject a little more interest in our lives- by meeting other BAs who are generally cool people to hang out with (even without beer in the equation) and by having more interesting places to visit when you travel. It's not as much about walez bro as it is the experiences you get because of the beer, that you would not be able to experience otherwise.

Not usually. There are just so many great beers out there and also available in my area I usually don't give it a second thought if I see someone post about something I can't get and or haven't tried. I do occasionally trade but usually do it for others that are looking for something that I can get and they can't. If I get something I have never had, great! If not, no biggie, maybe someday.

Sorry Bud, I had been trying to get ZD since the 2010 DarkLord day and always was in the last groups and they sold out before I or my buddies could get it. This year I got group B. 3 bottles of DL, a winning scratch off and I chose the Bourbon Vanilla DL, and 2 cases of ZD. I had never been so happy to spend $165.00 on beer in my life.

It's not the beer but the beards I'm envious of. It's a real blow to my masculinity seeing some of you-all's avatars on here.

Stop being envious of all these beers that you haven' t tried. Go drink 'em Son! And as far as this whole cellar thing...I buy weights to use them, not store them in the basement. I buy a car to drive it, not keep it in a garage under a tarp. And I buy beer...TO DRINK IT. Ready to drink, not ready to be "cellared." Just like he who dies with the most toys, he who dies with the most beers in the cellar...is just dead. More beer for the rest of us! Sorry. Just sayin'.

I think a lot of people in those posts just try to put up the most either desired and/or unknown beer just for the heck of it.
