Malt liquor fans?

    I would always buy Mickey's grenades in college. Haven't had them in a couple years, but I personally didn't think they were too bad. The puzzles under the cap are a nice touch too.

    I'm about to pop an O.E HG 800 in a minute or so. It's a regular go-round for me.

    The worst thing about being an enthusiast of American-style Malt Liquor is that there's just never enough draught placements to grow the segment amongst the many Craft offerings. The best I've seen lately was Carlsberg's Elephant, and that was a few years ago now. :sunglasses:

    I enjoy a finely crafted beer, but then again, I'm still in my 20's, and I still enjoy getting roaring drunk at parties from time to time. Not every weekend like in high school, but if you toss me a Colt or a Mickey's and tell me "Tonight, we're getting fucked up" every now and then, you won't see me saying no.

    Hell I genuinely like the taste and don't even drink malt liquor to get drunk (it would take 64oz of steel reserve to get me shit-faced)

    I think Colt and O.E. have a decent taste to em. I've had a taste aversion to Mickey's since high school and a couple of violent hangovers, but I'll still down em if I'm already buzzing.

    Try out Forty Faave by Stillwater. Yes, they make a malt liquor and it's awesome. I had DFH Liquor de Malt once and probably enjoyed it more than I should have. Now if only we could get Lagunitas to put out some real 40s...

    I've been avoiding the 40's of <6% brews but maybe it's just because olde english wasn't that mind blowing (king cobra fan)

    Two Mickey's logo pint glasses didn't make the cut during my last move. Somebody at Goodwill is going to be happy to find them.

    My personal favorite in college used to be Haffenreffer (drinkin' Haffies), but out in CA it was all about drinking King Cobra.

    I presently have a 24oz can in my hands with a five month Best By/pull-date, and it is assuredly not nasty, but perhaps it's nastier for younger drinkers? It ranks amongst my favorite year-round American adjunct beers in terms of both bang-for-the-buck and drinkability.
