I sat with a woman from the brewery at the St Arnold beer dinner, she said it's totally rum. "rumkinator" she called it.

forgot to mention, she said it's slated for a 2014 release. If you go to the brewery the white barrels are the rum ones.

Had a BB3 last night and thought it was really good. I liked it slightly more than the 1st.

Anybody crack open any BB2 as of late?

D&T Has a case of BB2 up for grabs but all the bottles seem to be pretty flippin' overcarbed and the beer is crazy sour now - is this how BB2 is aging or, was it just a bad batch?

When I had it at Stag's Head it was just Christmas Ale with some white wine in it, None of this other crazy stuff.

I'm not sure about the carbonation (when I had some a few weeks ago it was fine) but it definitely has taken on more of a tart and funky taste. I actually prefer it more now then I did fresh but I can see it how it would turn some people off depending on what you like. Especially if you liked it fresh, it's quite a different beer now. Whether you like it now or not, kinda cool what a difference different types of yeast can make.

Yeah, its definitely changed, but for me, its changed for the better. Developing a real nice sourness right now, although I havent noticed any carb issues.

As a matter of fact, I drank one last night. It did have a bit of a tartness to it, but it wasn't overpowering at all. It was actually a nice compliment to it. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would given the description. The spices were also much more noticeable on the nose than in the taste.

And it was definitely not overcarbed, it was undercarbed. I poured it super aggressively and got a very minimal head that didn't last long at all.

Was interesting. The nose was reminiscent of gueuze actually. Minus a few pieces like cheesy funk. I didn't care for the taste as much, but in all fairness, I did not allow it to warm up which may have changed it significantly.

Huh. They must have got another shipment in, because last I was there, they had BB2 and had just run out of BB3. Guess that's the end of the BB2 train... which is a shame, because apparently it just keeps getting better.
