Bah. Hopefully your target is doing some sleuthing.

SliverX and I put the box together last night. Unfortunately, Buffalo doesn't really have a good fresh local IPA. Plans are in the works to finish out hole #9 with a bang. But it might take a week or so. We are pretty stoked with the beers we are sending out. Looking to put up some low numbers.

So, Big Gene and I are having a tasting Thursday night and knocking back this whole front nine with some help from some local craft beer loving buddies. Just so I'm clear here, we are to score each beer as either an Eagle, Birdie, Par, Bogey, or Double Bogey and turn in our card, correct ?? If so, my thoughts on what comprise each of these would be along the lines of this..............

Eagle.....one of the best beers you've EVER had, Top Notch, Top Notch !!!!!
Birdie....Awesome brew, excellent example of it's style and one you would SEEK OUT in a trade......
Par.......very solid beer, one you would buy repeatedly if available locally but wouldn't chase down in a release or trade for....
Bogey.....MEH..... the world needs ditchdiggers too..........
Double Bogey.....didn't care to finish this brew, or worse yet a drainpour ......toss this turd in the country club cement pond.

This sound about right, or need more objective grading system ?? Too tough or too easy, what's the slope rating here ??

I thought JPark and Mister Hops were the judges of the boxes, as they are the ones sending out the prize. But I might have missed something along the way.

Just looked at the OP and we score each hole and then submit them to JPark and Mister Hops. It doesn't matter to me what criteria we use as long as everyone is using the same approach. I think johnyb's suggestions are fine.

Just got home..... THIS BOX IS HUGE.

Drinking a Head Hunter, and diving into it..... will post haul, and talk to Misterhops tomorrow to set up a tee time and decide what beers to crack on the course. If he's up for it, I think we'll drink all of the contents during rounds of golf!

    EDIT:

3 bottles in, and I can tell I'm gonna be shooting in the mid 200's with these beasts.

    O.K.

Got it all unpacked..... Gotta say, I've only had TWO of the beers in this box.... fortunately for me, Misterhops is from Seattle, so he can hopefully tell me what I'm looking at.

Gotta say, it all looks delicious, and I'm pretty sure we're in whales-bro status with a couple that I know I've heard mentioned, but have never had.

Also, the "Dig into the cellar" beer (12oz x2) is a beer I was lucky enough to have an old vintage of..... but I think that "old" vintage was 4 years newer than this, and I am SUPER PUMPED to crack these bad-boys, because the 2006 (yes, they sent 2002 beers) I got to taste 2oz of, was RIDICULOUSLY good....

Will post a list after I talk to Misterhops!

    Balls, shipping exception

So, there's going to be a slight delay in our box getting to our target. It was damaged in transit and sent back to me (should land today). Hoping it was just the growler that leaked...
