I can confirm it was a Blue Cheese party up in that Loon!

I haven't had any bottles of Salt Lick, so I can't vouch for that. But definitely can say I've experienced that with Jolly Pumpkin. The slow gushers don't really seem like a QC issue to me, but rather a side effect of the process.

I agree with that. Some bottles of Funk Metal just got overcarbed and were somewhat of a QC issue, but Salt Lick tastes just fine even though the foam rises up a little

Bottle was refrigerated for 4+ days. Is that long enough? And a beer needing to be chilled to open = issues and not as intended. (Or at least I have yet to meet a brewer who would say that needing to super chill their beer in order to not have it gush is how they intended the experience to be. Open to be proven wrong.)

EDIT: Funk Metal gushed for me as well, but I quite enjoyed it after that.

To my knowledge the last time I spoke to the beer guy he said he had 4 cases of Funk Metal. So I swung by and picked up a couple. This was about a month ago, so I'm sure there is still plenty there. I've only mentioned this to a few people.

No I still remember. Pretty funny. I'm not sure what to call that.

Weird. I've never had a gusher from JK.

El Cedro discounted to $9.99 at Arbor Trails Whole Foods if anyone still wants a bottle. I had one recently, and they're still hoppy with just the right amount of funk.

Buy them all! I am thinking this beer will be great after a year or two; I could be wrong though.

Its made to be drank fresh -- but still the hops will fade and a strong cedar probably would be apparent. I have one bottle I'm aging too.

Don't forget the healthy dose of Brett in there. I think it'll be fantastic in a year.

I might be wrong about this, but I think there's something to the whole "let refrigerate for 24 hours" thing that y'all might unknowingly be reversing. I think part of the intention is to let the yeast settle. So, if you let it refrigerate long enough but then drop it in a cooler and take it somewhere, you're going to wake everything up again.

I'm at the bar at Whole Foods making tons of friends on account of my Funk Metal shirt. Thanks, Josh Cockrell <3
(And Jeff et al for putting the amazing brew behind the label)

I left all my new friends in the interest of getting out of downtown before 3:30. Unless you meant pics of the shirt

I like how the Jester King thread slowed to crawl when it was announced that most of the new releases might be brewery only...

On a positive note, JK will make more money and we will save more money. In the long run it works out for both of us. I can also say I won't miss driving all over DFW for a few bottles.
