Speaking of the Hoarders Society, do people feel it was worth the extra money (rather than joining the RS) to join?

    Sound off....

I will not be maxing these out for myself. So if I can help anyone out near Kansas City, let me know.

    Well it's $700 Vs. $300.
However you get over double the amount of "free" bottles
    5% better discount
More allocation Limits and More Exclusives.

Personally i'm in the Reserve Society with a friend and we don't hit our maximum allocations on anything that has a 5+ bottle limit. So in that instance it wouldn't be worth it.

I have a friend that shares it and they max out ALL allocations. Ideal for the two of them.

I have another friend who shares a hoarders with 7 other people? They have to make sacrafices on who gets what but he spends less money than i do..gets fewer bottles...but gets the occassional bottle i can't get.

In the end i think its personal preference. I would do hoarders with 3 other people as it would save me in the long run with the amount of money i spend and based on what i've seen would still get me what i wanted but thats personal preference.

i am soloing Hoarders this year (well, with my wife... that sounded so much dirtier than i meant it to).

I'm enjoying it a lot, and it's awesome to get decent allocations of CR, BT, and the small batch stuff (and HS exclusives), but for 75% of the bottles i wouldn't max even an RS allocation. So it's pretty neat, and i really like the exclusive bottles, but i will probably split it with at least one other person next year. It's just hard to justify the upfront cost, especially when passing so many of the allocations... Plus i open all the beer with the same damn people anyway, might as well have them "own" the beer and split the cost! haha

For anyone who is more interested in the Mash/Mash and Grind brews than the SitRK, I would gladly swap. I probably won't be taking any of the Mash brews as I'm not a huge barley wine fan.

Also would be willing to scoop up any SitRK and Beauregarde that people are not maxing out. I am a local reserve member and can make it worth while with bottles or ill cover your shipping costs for that allotment if your out of state. BM me to work something out.

So, I e-mailed The Bruery and haven't heard back (yet - it was just yesterday)...can they ship out of state for those in the RS or HS? I live in St. Louis and, well, not only don't we get their beers here, I don't travel to California at all for work or pleasure (currently).

Anyone know the answer to this?

    They only ship within California.

That's what I thought, too...but I see so many people from "out of state" that are part of the RS posting on here. I just HAD to question it...

Find someone willing to pick it up and ship it for you. In turn offer them bottles they don't have access too.

Yeah that's is what the trustee is for. A designated person who picks up your beer for you and ships it to you. Usually one would send some beer back or something in return for the service. Any good trustee should not require much.

    Cheers

I'd be willing to help you out, I am already a RS trustee for 2 other people. BM me if interested.

Definitely worth it if you split it with someone. I really don't understand why anyone would want to be in the RS but not the HS, provided they can split it (which really ought to never be an issue). It's $50 more, but you probably save that on allocations alone, forget the HS-exclusive bottles.

Anyone not maxing out on SitRK or Beauregard, would love a bottle or two of each, just a lowly Preservation Member here waiting on the RS to open up.
