Okay, when can we expect more sours? The only thing close that I can find in Houston is Das Winderkind and Salt lick.

I'm almost out of all my sours. :slight_frown:

I hear ya, Danz. I hear ya.

I've kinda moved on now, to Hitachino Nest.

So I went the JK tour this last saturday and was told by two employees that they've stopped making Funk Metal. Anyone else hear the same? I found one bottle while I was out the other day and it seems like I'm going to have to go back and find another.

Flip a few pages back, and you will find different info. Some times the volunteers there are a little off on things.

That said, I typically only talk to Josh, Jeff, and Ron Extract when I'm there. Usually Josh, as Jeff and Ron are being professionals lawl

They're... definitely making Funk Metal. They've got older barrels integrated into their barrel program and are maturing more young beer to blend to create a new batch the last time I heard.

It's just a slow beer to make.

Is there any sort of schedule for beers Jester King lists as limited on their website? For example last night I saw few bottles of Boxer's Revenge at my local whole foods and picked up two bottles but was tempted to pick up a another bottle if this is something they never plan to brew again. Not sure if the bottles I purchased were just from an old order and they just decided to put them out or if they brewed another batch.

The beers on their website are listed as regular lineup and seasonal/limited.

I'm pretty sure all new batches of JK beers have a label with batch # and bottling date. Though AFAIK, they'll brew Boxer's again. It's just a part of the rotation.

If you're looking for Funk Metal give Specs Bee Cave a call. I went out there a month ago and the beer guy told me he had at least 3 cases of it. I went out and bought 2 but I don't know how much have sold since then.

Guess I'll be heading out there this evening. I've been scrambling all over Austin this week looking. I took it for granted while it was plentiful, and I'm too impatient to wait for the next batch.

Anybody know if Stanley's is still putting some out?

Call first man. Bee Caves is far for most people and I'd hate to have you drive out there if they in fact had none left.

There were no bottles of Funk Metal at Stanley's when we had the share on June 1st.

Thanks, man. Getting pretty desperate at this point. I love Funk Metal so much my wife is getting jealous. If all else fails, I'll make the trek up to McKinney Specs when I'm at DFW airport next week. I imagine that 30 miles or so will be more difficult than a Bee Caves run.

FYI Hall's is not even 15 minutes away from DFW airport. Get ahold of Fern (userid: puddledynamics).

None left @ McKinney Specs. Someone went through and cleaned that store out of most of the bottles that were sitting.

Thanks for letting me know. An Austin Brodie Spec's guy showed that they still had 22 in inventory last night. I really appreciate it.

Interesting. I think things are being moved around to stores similar to how the Specs in Houston operate. I could be wrong but I thought I was talking to the right guy.

I was Bee Cave Twin Liquors two days ago and bought one bottle of funk metal and they had one left. Beecave specs that same day didn't have any. Of course I didn't ask if any was in the back so who knows.

That's not correct. We plan on continuing to make Funk Metal indefinitely.
