willow market on middlefield and artisan wine depot on el camino

for your own benefit, enjoy moonlight brewing beers on draft at zeitgeist, toronado and a few other locations. brian hunt doesn't bottle anything, so you need to try his beers while you're here.

Slightly off topic....I was wondering how hard it is to get Russian River beers like Consecration? I live in Massachusetts but my brother lives in Sacramento but visits San Francisco all the time. I've had Consecration and Pliny the Elder before and they were amazing

Only rappers and wanna-be's call it "the 'Sco".
It's San Fran or plain and simply The City.

There's Willows Market in Menlo Park ( 5 min from PA), Whole Foods in Los Altos (10 min) K & L Liquors in Redwood City (20 min drive), Jane's Beer store in Mountain View (15 min drive), Mission Liquors in Fremont (~40 min drive). There's a place in Santa Clara but I can't forget the name. Beer Revolution in Oakland (~50 min drive, they have Pliny the Elder). There's always City Beer in SF. Happy Trails!

After three years, they finally fixed one of the typos on the 2012 bottle, but they left the other. I think Tornado finally became Toronado, but it's still San Fransisco. You have to find an older bottle to get the full Lost Abbey glory of giving a shit.

I think it was a LA label that spelled "barrel" wrong. Only had one r. How the hell do people miss this shit?

This....K&L has a pretty good selection Also Willows Market it's pretty good.

I went to City Beer on Wednesday and was impressed with their selection.

Ya, best three shops near Palo Alto are K&L, Willow's Market, and Jane's Beer Store. Also the Whole Foods stores each have their own buyers and they all generally do a good job. The Redwood City and Los Altos stores both have more shelf space, and thus selection, than the Palo Alto one. Artisan Wine depot on El Camino near San Antonio also has a good selection although somebof their freshness dates are suspect.

What's wrong with the Rose & Crown? Solid tap and bottle list... They even get Pliny the Younger in February.

    Oh, I see:

You had a bad experience at that "shitty" bar. So you're just a hater, and you have some sort of grudge toward people that recommend them. Well, sorry someone advocated a good bar and you didn't like it, but you don't have to harass everyone else who makes the same recommendation.

How do you rate Ledger's Liquor & Star Grocery in Berkeley against the above mentioned shops. I'm looking to scoop up everything from Ale Industries, Iron Springs, El Toro, Auburn, Calicraft, Santa Clara,... and anything that's exclusively Nor Cal.

Yes, Artisan Wine Depot near San Antonio Rd and Showers Dr. Sometimes, I wonder about the shelf life of their beer too. However, I did get a great Dogfish Head 75 minute IPA last November.

Before you leave, go to Gourmet Haus Stadt in Redwood City and treat yourself to a good beer. They always have something good on tap.
