They're not trolls, they answered you. Cantillon doesn't even hit shelves, and it does it's gone instantly. Maybe you'll see some, but no one can tell you. Just like every shop in the continental US: no one has Cantillon sitting around.

Barclay's in Oakland might have Cantillon on their bottle list. I don't know about to-go. It's worth it to stop in there anyway. One of the best taplists in the East Bay.

Thanks for the tip. Perhaps "go to" were the wrong words. "Places that might have it" would have been better.

That speaks more to the lack of good tap lists in the east bay than it does to Barclay's list being good.

I was just talking to a guy I trade with from Canada recently, and he told me Cantillon is even starting to dry out there. Apparently a lot of the stuff on the shelves there is from like 2-3 years ago, and now that the cat's out of the bag, it's not being replenished nearly as quickly as it's being snatched up and sent to the US.

For serious. I left way too much Lou Pepe kriek there.

I must be the only person in the world that loves Ales Unlimited. I've been to most of the spots mentioned but Ales Unlimited has always scratched my itch.

It is the only place I've found shelf cantillon in the last two years, I'll give them that.

I had a friend who is in to beer go to Japan recently, and I told her to look for Cantillon. She checked out a few places and didn't see any. I'm not saying it's not there, but it's not as ubiquitous as legend makes it seem, methinks.

I've heard it's all about going to the right place. My buddy said the store (no idea the name) had multiple cases of LPK they'd sell him. Plus all kinds of weird shit like Westy and Dark Lord.

It was Tanakaya. No Dark Lord there (though they had it on the bottle list at Craftheads). They had cases of LPK, crates of Westy 12, and for some reason bottles of Supplication.

Yep. Tanakaya is unstoppable. And confusing. I once saw a bottle of BART there for $16. Oh, and LPK is like $21 there.

I imagine it may be a bit steep on the pricing for those that need to shop regularly in the city, but when I'm in "vacation mode," I don't mind paying the extra buck or two for something I don't ordinarily see down here in LA. It's not as if Healthy Spirits or City Beer are much more reasonable either.

Barclay's one of the best taplists in the East Bay?
    Now THAT's funny.

Loon on the bottle list of Trappist and La Trappe. Sometimes Beer Rev sticks it out on the shelves to see what happens. City Beer sometimes has some in the extra $ cooler behind the bar. I don't think the crowd at Barclay's would know what to make of Loon and doubt they've ever had it or wanted it.
