It's worth a lot! Very flattering to be in the running with those other fantastic beers.

    Thanks for the scientific research.

Thanks for making good beer. I'm really looking forward to trying the remaining Heavy Machinery IPAs. If this line is successful, can we hope to see another round next year? Because I'm going to need more Double IPA in 2014....

While I do love some Enjoy By, I think Gubna is a better comparison, minus $5 per 4 pack. Great stuff from the ABW guys!

It's a toss up for me. Both are damn good. As already mentioned you guys have a lot better price point. On second thought I'd give heavy machinery a slight advantage. I'd love to see you guys dump even more hops in the later additions and I'd easily spring for a little higher price point.

Sputnik and this version of heavy machinery are my 2 favorite abw brews so far. Haven't had einhorn yet though. Come on einhorn already!

Even if the line isn't super successful we'll probably do it again because we really enjoy it and its fun. We've been talking about doing a different specialty style next year.

We ended up using about 10lbs per barrel, which is a stupidly ridiculous amount. We would need a specialty piece of equipment (a la Sierra's torpedo) to get any more utilization. Not saying that's a bad idea...

And this beer is about as expensive as we'd ever want to see anything on the shelves. We know y'all are willing to pay a premium for specialty beers, but a lot of the prices out there are plain unjustifiable in regards to what the actual cost to the brewery is.

How about doing a line of stouts next year? Coffee Sputnik, BA Sputnik, Vanilla Sputnik, Cherry Sputnik. The possibilities are making me salivate just thinking about them......

Oh. My. God. I totally underestimated this one. I expected to enjoy this one but not nearly as much as this. This is just incredible. My new favorite beer from ABW by far! And I'm a coffee *****, so naturally I love Sputnik. But this may be my new favorite Texas DIPA. Seriously. I'm so very fortunate to get this as fresh as I did. It's so oily and resinous. The pine smell really does remind me of a Stone brew. I love the sticky, thick mouthfeel to this, it's a nice touch to a heavy beer. I'm completely blown away by this beer, it's a home run grand slam for me. I really don't have a problem saying this can stick with Enjoy By. I'd love to do a side by side, in fact I will as soon as I get my hands on the new batch.

Graham, tell me this is a seasonal and I'm going to kill myself. By the way, what's the ABV on this bad boy? It's sinfully smooth. Make this year-round pleeeeeeeease! Double Eagle, something clever

Speaking of, you (Graham) must be responsible for the writing on the packaging and can, right? It seems like your style if I ever knew it!

Sputnik is too difficult to brew to build a series around. But, we'll probably do a bunch of specialty casks of it this year.

Thanks for the very flattering review. It's right at 10%ABV.

There are just so many other things we have planned that I doubt we'll be making this beer again anytime soon. Definitely not year-round.

I had a hand in the concept and writing, but is was very much a collaborative effort with Christian Helms and Mike Woolf, who are primarily responsible for our design and branding.

At the very least I'm looking forward to the rest of this series and one can hope this DIPA gets revisited at one point. For now I'll drink as much as I can.

How long can we expect to see this one around for?

And any Sputnik variations I'm all over. Love that beer.

For not being a hophead myself, I found this beer to be very drinkable. I really enjoyed it, which caught me by surprise. Very balanced.

We sold the entire run of DIPA on Wednesday and Thursday, so whatever is out there now is the last of it.

We plan on having the next release in July. We're calling it a "Half IPA", which will basically be a super-aromatic, hot weather American Pale Ale. Citra and Centennial will be the stars of the show.

Glad you think so. It's a good example of perceived bitterness vs actual bitterness. Believe it or not, the beer has less than 50 IBUs.

PERFECT for this time of year. I know what will be in my cooler on the river. I noticed Whole Foods had more yesterday. I guess I kind of figured this one would be around for a couple of months. Thanks for the heads up.
