Anyone know where I can get myself a growler of Hop Delusion?

 

I work for a retailer that has a store in that shopping center. Gangs would come in the store, take anything they wanted, then tell the employees that they would kill them and their families if they said anything. The store is well named...

 

Growlers on Waugh has it intermittently, it usually sells out within the same day though. Follow their twitter or wait til the next week or two when it hits the shelves!!

Popped a 005 tonight and I'm not liking the smell or taste. I ended up with six 005's and opened one the day of release and thought it was great. Tonight I hardly want to finish it. I love Karbach, I think they might take over as Houston's best brewery, but they may have rushed this release.

 

Ruh roh! I shipped 3 out and have another on hold for another BA.

 

Hey man take it for what it's worth...I just drain poured it. I hope no one else has this problem and I look like an idiot. I love Karbach and I don't like reporting this news.

 

005 was nothing like 003. Glad I went light on the 005. Not a drain pour. Just didn't get much barrell at all. Better off saving $ and paying for the regular Hellfighter, if you can find it.

I had a trade setup to send 005 and I felt bad and sent an 003 along with it, so he wasn't disappointed.

 

Just had BB Hellfighter on cask at Cottonwood. Maybe I just love cask condition, but found it excellent. Everything was integrated perfectly. Barrel, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruits, roast, coffee. I have not had the 005 version in bottle yet, and bottle vs cask can be worlds apart. Though, still an excellent beer from cask.

 

again, lots of regular hellfighter at the "ghetto" kroger in the heights. was there today and there were cases of it.

volunteered at the brewery today... hop delusion this week and was told roll in the hay the end of june.... the hop delusion is awesome..might be a candidate for the best IPA in texas for sure.

 

I feel it's not just a candidate, but already the winner! Lets see what the bottle is like and hope its a regular occurance!

 

I really need to try this Heavy Machinery before I make that statement. I think that Alex has had both; maybe he can chime in!

 

Hop Delusion is excellent. I need to have it again though. I split that 32oz growler with you and John so 10oz was a tease. It could have been colder too. But I did enjoy it more than Endeavour which was semi-fair since we had them side by side. The reason it wasn't completely fair is because the Endeavour wasn't nearly as fresh and I noticed a difference from that alone.

My first Heavy Machinery was amazing. I liked it better than Hop Delusion. I plan to have a side by side once I get a bottle of Hop Delusion if I get it soon enough. But I had a 2nd can of Heavy Machinery last night and it wasn't as good as the first time. BUT! My palate was wrecked by then. I honestly shouldn't have even had it.

I plan on having some more Heavy Machinery and Enjoy By tonight while I watch the Spurs/Heat game. I'll follow up with my opinion on that in the ABW thread.

 

Side x side yesterday at petrol station - son preferred hop delusion but I thought all day was better. Maybe the hot weather.
