reviewed (and still finishing) unibroue 17 grande reserve.

like seemingly every unibroue beer, it's well above average but still not really spectacular. also like every unibroue beer, i find myself liking it much more than i think it's good, if that makes sense (it does).

Opened up my fridge and decided on an Anderson Valley Imperial IPA for my next beer. It's interesting, I've never got this strong an orange flavor from a beer before. Screw Blue Moon, this is where the oranges are really at!

Had a DFH 90 minute IPA to start it off. I have no idea why I never tried this beer while DFH was sold here, but my father in law picked some up for me in Florida to try. I LOVED it. One of my favorite IIPA's I've tried. Superior to 60 and 120 minute.

Then had some pizza, and after had some Black Sheep Ale, an English Pale. Pretty darn nice also, exceeded my expectations.

Chimay Red is a good beer. Not as good as the blue, tho. But it is still a very, very good beer.

Starting with a RR Damnation tonight. Small head for a BSPA, should've let it sit out longer before opening, it's a cold and stormy night here in LA.

i keep passing it over since i have so many bottles at home, but it does catch my eye usually. $18, wow, i think it's cheaper around here... not sure though. if not, definitely not going to try it (love zuur, love gnomegang, like the regular line-up, but not enough to buy a $20~ belgian strong dark ale from them... would just get a few rochefort 10s or something).
