I'm sure after the BBQ I'll be toast. Sad, since I'm a mid shift worker, but between over-time & little league baseball I believe I'm at least 15 hours of sleep behind where I should be this week:astonished:

Agreed...The gnomegang was a highlight for me with the Unibroue lineup, and I'd gladly grab a couple of those again. I think the appeal of this beer is in the name, "Art of Darkness" - pretty sweet.

I have one in my cellar waiting to be cracked...perhaps this weekend.

The cork can kill you - talking shaken up Champagne explosion. Doesn't spill out though. D23 is fantastic.

This is a beer that always catches my eyes as well, but you nailed it. I could buy St. Bernie Abt 12 for less. I personally slightly prefer it over Rochefort 10, but they are both fantastic...and cheaper than Art of Darkness...

Moved onto an Alpha King now. Hmmm, not sure what I love more about Three Floyds, their beer or their labels.

I think you're thinking of Ommegang, rather than Unibroue. Those North American Belgian specialists, all the same!

confusing unibroue with ommegang(:. they're both great, usually-bargain-priced belgian style beer makers though.

it's very good, and the french oak they advertise does help it. my only serious complaint is that they're a bit overboard with the spices. has that nice, smokey/clove + dark fruit quad flavor that a lot of good BSDAs have, but the spices hit a bit too hard for me.

sort of like he'brew genesis 15:15... not that they taste alike, but that was a good barrel aged barleywine that, for me, was a bit marred by the heavy fruit juice influence (plus, like 17 grand reserve, it was a little thinner bodied than i thought it ought to have been). still wouldn't turn down either beer though.

I saw Converge at the Black Cat in DC... killer band mixing with hardcore and metal punk ethos... now on to more beer... oh we are not done for tonight my friends....!!! (I enjoy a variety of genre music, not everyone must partake.. that's all fine... we all enjoy the brews that we do too). As for Dark Horse the brewery.. I would suggest other brews of theirs before this one in my humble opinion.

Stay safe everyone, drink well, let's see what you're all having tonight!!!!

2 X SNPA and 2 X Acme. Just opened an awesome box of hops from Etan. Very excited to be off on Saturday for sampling.

It's been a rough week, and I have to put in a few hours tomorrow as well. I needed a third...

Frankly, I liked Aprihop this year a lot more than I remember in the past. Really good.

Just finished my first Oberon. Pretty good, but I don't think I'll be getting too into wheat beers.

Kicked off with Deviant Dale's and now working on a Lost Abbey Deliverance...Heard about the Lost Abbey brews being flat but gotta say this Deliverance is no more flat than any other barrel aged blend I've had...it's really tasty, I like...

Whoa, Converge. I used to be super into them 7-10 years ago. Still rock out to 'Petitioning The Empty Sky' when the mood strikes.

    Founders Red's Rye was first.
Drinking Ballast Point Big Eye IPA right now.
