    Hi,

I'm visiting Vermont quite often, and I just love the vibe (and the outstanding local beers). I'd like to rent a cottage for about 7-9 days to celebrate my 30th birthday during the month of october, a place that would accomodate between 10 and 15 persons. I'd like a place that would be near waterbury, montpellier and HF, since we're planning to hit these places. Otherwise, we should be hiking, biking, drinking good wine/beer and we're foodies too, so a "cooking friendly" place would be great. I've been looking on Air bnb, with some opportunities, but often at hefty prices. Was wondering if some of you local BA had any hints? I'd be glad to reward any clue leading to a great spot with some local goodness!

    Cheers,

Check out homeaway.com. I rented a place about a half hour Northeast of HF last year from that site and really enjoyed it in West Charleston, Vt. Great spot for a fishing trip but there are plenty of other properties to look at on that site that will fit your needs.

I know of some rentals, but none that can accommodate that many people, unfortunately.

I found a great place on airbnb.com for exactly the same thing. I'll be up in Waterbury next weekend for my 30th. Unfortunately it only accommodates 8 people. There are a bunch of other places though so it might be worth a look.

I'll put in a plug for this spot, though it may be a bit too small:

Less than 20 minutes from Waterbury, and a mile down the hill from my house. About a 3 minute drive or 15-20 minute walk to the Camels Hump trailhead. And you could come up to my place & sample some homebrew, trade beer, etc:slight_smile: It has a decent deck so that could help if the weather is good (always a crapshoot).

Not really close to Hill Farmstead, but few places are.

I always sleep at the Old Stagecoach in Waterbury when I spend a week-end in Vermont. Looks nice, but might not accomodate enough people. I'll let you know if I'm around, I'd be glad to share a beer!

a place on Lake Champlain? Like Redmedicine said, VRBO.com is a great site. Used numerous times with no problems. But with summer coming on, I would put your a*s in high gear.

I'd be shocked if you couldn't find a place on vrbo.com that didn't meet your criteria.

Very nice place; you definitely have to visit in winter to really appreciate the fountain.

OP: Don't forget about Trapp Brewery and Rock Art, since they're in the immediate neighborhood.
