In all seriousness - you just compared a single IPA, a weak one, to an Imperial Stout and Imperial Red. I think you just don't like strong ales.

I think I just have better taste than you. Kidding, sort of.

I expected a lot from a beer named Tongue Buckler. It didn't deliver.

Sea Monster is an average imperial stout.

Same here - shitty work week is a better descriptor for me.

It's been a Bruery night for me - started with a Mischief Gone Wild (which surprised me - was pretty tasty) and a Filmishmish which was quite good. Now on to some food.....

Impy Red's aren't for everyone as the the slight roastiness can be a battle with the hops. I had a fresh Port Shark attack tonight that was nice, but not the same as a great IPA/DIPA. As for comparing to an Impy stout well yeah you are right, way too different styles.

I started off with Old Foghorn by Anchor Brewing, my 1st time trying and man oh man am I an instant fan, very well done, gonna have to seek out more from Anchor, especially this one it's a top 5 barleywine for me. Finished with a Dry Hard Cider from North Peak, their brew's aren't the most amazing things outta Michigan but have small subtleties that keep me trying. This one was not one of them, made from Michigan crab apples maybe and I was expecting more of a cider and it seemed like it was trying to be an odd sort of cider beer with a funky lager-like finish to it...NEXT!
