You know, I think there is some truth to what you say. I used to think Hopslam was piney as hell, but I hardly notice it anymore. I see people listing HopDevil and Nugget Nectar, but I only notice a tinge of pine in it. WAYYY more floral, sweet fruit to me. Stone IPA's to me still have quite a bit of pine, but I agree over time my brain seems to have blocked out some of the pine smells/tastes.

I also like you still can find the onion flavors in some IPA's very easily.

OP is asking what he can get that's readily available. Not sure why so many are mentioning Deschutes Inversion and Ska Modus. Great examples but not distributed in NJ.
As mentioned by others, Sixpoint Resin is the Piniest beer I have had and is on the shelves in just about every store thats worth a damn in the lovely Garden State.

I think both of you guys may have hit onto something. Maybe we notice the pine when we first try IPAs because the pine notes are so distinctive and so different from any other thing we might drink. But over time, we might grow accustomed to it so that it becomes barely perceptible.

You're right. I actually just came back from my beer store. They have Sixpoint Resin. But I must confess, I don't like Resin. To me anyway, I'm not a fan of Resin. I was looking for SN Torpedo, which they normally carry. (I had never bought it before, but on the basis of the numerous recommendations for it in this thread, I was hoping to pick some up.) Unfortunately, they were sold out, but are getting a shipment tomorrow.

They were out of almost everything I was looking to get: SN Torpedo, Samuel Smith Pure Brewed Lager, Stone Imperial Russian Stout, Spaten Lager, etc.

Walking Man "Homoerectus," very piney, some say citrus but I disagree, tastes like distilled pine juice.

And too boozy for mine....I thought in today's day and age, that would have been masked better, especially when fresh.

I wish they'd go back to their old recipe, when the ABV was 9.2 or 9.3 I believe. Was a much better beer...

SN Hop Hunter IPA. Lots of pine, easy to find... for most, not too spendy.

I find Head Hunter to be the most piney I have had, especially some of the batches (it can vary). Intense pone aroma and flavors.

I know you said NJ, but Fat Heads does distribute to PA, no? Depending where you live it could be a short drive (or not).

My favorite piney IPA is Modus Hoperandi from Ska Brewing.
