Agreed. I showed up with a bottle in tote to share. Another BA pulled out a cooler with a ton of stuff in it. As we were sharing, a guy none of us knew came up. He did not have a glass, nor did he have a beer to share. He was quickly offered a glass and welcomed to partake in our brews. I am not knocking this guy for not having a glass. What I am attempting to do is show how cool and generous most BAs really are. My experience at Darkness Day was pretty much the same; I knew no one but was welcomed to enjoy whatever from the tables (with no one asking if I had brought anything).

This community is great. Yes, there are those who are out for themselves. However, most are generous and caring people who are willing to go the extra mile for their friends.

Cheers to all of those who have welcomed strangers and been generous while expecting nothing in return!

Yeah, I was bummed when I heard people went through twice... yes, I know I should have gotten there earlier, but my job is important and I am not dipping out early for a few beers. I am letdown that I struck out at this release and how they didn't stick the the 4 bottle per person. I know this is hard to regulate, but this is of course coming from a guy who drove over an hour in rush hour traffic to go home empty handed...

Let's put the average BA theory to test:

ISO: Steel Toe Lunker for our tasting group. FT: Cost of bottle

Gotta try it at least, all of my previous experiences with BAs have been super positive...

Right on and it's $5 less a bottle. But it's made by Brau Bros. and not a limited release, so it's not any good.

That seems really odd. I was home in New Ulm (albeit a lot closer to Lucan) and it was everywhere.. including grocery store liquor marts. It was around $13... but I haven't been too impressed with their stuff so dropping that much on a random bottle wasn't something I was going to do. This is an over $35 6-pack...

But you were going to drop say $80 last night on a beer you've never had before?

I was probably only going to buy 1 or 2 bottles fwiw. $20 is way too expensive when I can get CW BBBW for $12 a 4 pack.

The thing is, I have had some brews from ST and I have enjoyed them. They are quality. I haven't really had much from BB that I have enjoyed or wanted to buy more of. I am much more likely to blindly purchase a beer from a brewery that I have had stuff I like. (ex. I was a reserve member for 2 years and bought many 750s blindly from the Bruery because they make good beer).

Brau Bros. distributed to the outstate stores first. JJ Taylor is distributing to most metro stores. Word on the street is we will see it sometime in the next week or two.
