I almost thread jacked the ''Who's Brewing this Weekend" thread. I was in my LHBS today and they keep saying that they're going to see a massive decrease in customers over the summer. I'm curious to see how many people on BA will slow down or stop brewing for a few months and who will sweat it out with me?

Brew the most during summer time for all the backyard bottle shares and barbecues. It helps to have a couple keezers to regulate ferm temps.

Poll might could have a slight bias....bless its heart.
It ignores stovetop home-boy brewers who don't give a rat's ass about the weather...no matter what the season.

    Keep On Brewin'!

I try to brew every week when I'm not busy, or at least every other when I'm busy. Being so dang busy right now is another reason I really need to finish the upgrade, so that I'll have twice as much beer for about the same (or a little more) work.

I put together a ferm chamber partly so I could brew in the Summer. I use my gas oven when brewing, so I brew in the A/C.

I brew more in the summer... easier to be outside, and my basement stays in the low 60's year round. Not to mention saisons and other Belgians (sometimes have to finish saisons in the greenhouse to get them warm enough).

This might not be the case if I lived in TX, FL, etc... but then I'd have a couple of converted freezers for fermentation and storage, so the season would matter even less.

Fermentation temps aren't the issue for me (freezer with temp controller), it's just too damn hot and humid to be sitting in the driveway watching a boiling kettle.

It's hot down here all year. We're used to the heat. Brew constantly.

No space for another fridge/freezer. I'm either taking the summer off or doing a bunch of saisons.

I generally brew after I get the kids to bed. So the sun has gone down and its started to cool off. Its generally quite nice out come 2AM. And when I am done a quick jump in the lake helps too.

I move inside. It's so nice that it is tough to move back outside in the fall, and sometimes I don't.

    Full Bore.

You haven't lived until you drip sweat into a quadruple decocted hefe in the 110F+ sunshine. If you don't die it sure cures what ales you:rolling_eyes:.

i take winter off from brewing...different climates and different activities. I'm usually doing too much in winter with skiing and other activities. Summer is great when brewing in the early morning or in the evening here.

I am taking the summer off. I have 1 keg on tap and 5 full, not to mention around 8 cases mostly high gravity. I think I'll make it through! If I run out I know where I can buy some!

I need to brew more in the summer to keep up with consumption, more friends to share with and a lot more session beers brewed (more liquid consumed). My wort chiller is the only part that pisses me off, but I will be setting up a recirculation system for my chiller this year.

I plan on brewing as much as possible. I usually try to brew in the morning before it gets too hot. During the summer and winter I tend to do as much as I can inside. My kitchen door leads to my carport so I am within 5 to 20 feet of my burner while inside.

I can only reliably ferment with saison yeasts in my apartment during the summer. Did a bunch of stuff with them last year, but still didn't brew as much as I would during cooler months. Taking this summer off.
