Not old as in old can/recipe, but old as in age.... Agree with everything else.

Friar's Quad? Damn. That's a nice keg pull outta the (figurative) cellar!

Gotcha. I actually tend to think that Sea Hag has a very solid shelf life, at least in my fridge, - although probably a lot of that is how fresh the cans typically are when I buy them.

Father's Day weekend. Once the quad runs out another 32oz special will be available.

finally made it to modern apizza. great pie.

...and *holy shit* at this batch of gandhi bot. so good. more attenuated than usual (gandhi often just a bit too sweet and not dry enough for me; not this batch, perfectly dry for my tastes), more grapefruit, bit less tropical fruit but noticeable, small amount of weed pungency, and a beautiful cereal malt backbone. spot on DIPA.

    D:

edit: p.s. anyone know the hops in gandhi? i would guess simcoe and centennial.. and a third fruity one i can't identify (i'm probably wrong on 1st two).

I may be wrong, but I believe Gandhi is Simcoe, Centennial, Cascade, and Columbus, with the emphasis on the last one.

Yea so I have a wedding to go to in pa next Friday and I'm driving back Saturday it just dawned on me that I should hit nebco up on my way back to grab something fresh on Saturday. How's the scene on Saturdays?

kind of wish i'd stopped in for some wet willy, but i had an appointment.

can't recommend enough hitting modern and grabbing some gandhi. it may not be as big a transformation as old sea hag to new, but this batch of gandhi really is something special. if every subsequent batch is like that... get ready to snatch that gandhi up when you see it, because beer that good doesn't stay on shelves. it's "why bother making the IPA run to VT anymore?" good.

Very nice gesture, and awesome advocacy. Tired Hands is a great brewery to visit as well.

Yup. Just as an example, Amity got 10 cases on Friday, and had 0 left yesterday. I'm sure it's still around at a number of less prominent stores, but that's a serious feeding frenzy regardless.
