Has anyone been following these? Last Saturday 2010 Hunahpu with delicious pancakes, today it was Cognanc Imperial Sweet Stout. They also did a raffle of a 10'-13' Huna vert for anyone who filled growlers when the started filling them at the brewpub the other day. Word on the street is Joey (CEO) emptied his private cellar to stock them with all these goodies!

SO what do you think? Love? Hate?

I think it's awesome! I just wish I had the extra 40 every week to get whatever it is. This weekend is the sweet stout!

Haven't been there yet either. I live in the area and go to the CCB tasting room a few times a month, definitely feel like I need to go to the brew pub now.

Is not his private cellar. In the back of the cooler in the original brewery us a small cooler they use add a cellar. I was in there in November. There are multiple cases of vintage huna as well as other beers and sine kegs. There are even some empty homebrew kegs that being to Wayne.

I'm coming from Chicago this week, and am likely to be in on Thursday or Friday. Tears will come to my eyes if this happens Saturday morning and I miss it. Does anyone know the score on the likelihood of this happening, or any other specific happening that I should try to plan my trip around? I surely would appreciate the local help here.

I can say with relative certainty that something amazing and vintage will be coming out this weekend. It is a new promotion they are doing until the cellar coffers run dry. That being said, let your mind run wild with the possibilities of what could be coming. I was just there this morning and got a bottle of Cognac sweet stout.

FYI they have had a trend (And I believe they will keep it up) of having a release Saturday and Sunday morning at 11AM.

BM me if you have any other questions I would be glad to help!

Pretty sure they hinted on their FB wall that Capricio Oscuro will be one of the vintage releases soon.

I hope the CO is multiple bottles or cheaper, I'm not sure that's worth $40 with Amazing bacon pancakes.

I've never had the luxury of having CO... small bottles? or just not on par with the sweet stout or huna's of the world?

It's a 12 oz bottle, sold for $10 this year.

JMO, but the CO was much better when i drank one fresh opposed to the one i had recently.

good to know. I missed that release...oops.

$30 pancakes would be a bit overboard, for sure. I'm sure they are good, but not THAT good.

Realistically the 750ml was 25$ when it was first released. Compound that with the rarity of not being able to pull one of the shelf almost a year later and 15$ pancakes (which were excellent btw) adding the fact it was properly cellar-ed the entire time I believe it's a bargain for those of us who never got to try it and would like to have the opportunity to now.

Although I must say it's just expensive enough to keep the mules and other dickheads out of the pub so as not to ruin it for everyone else. This wont be for everyone, but I think that it's a good thing.

Oh i know. I wasn't complaining about the huna or sweet stout 750's with pancakes, just agreeing that a 12 oz bottle that retails for $10 with pancakes for $40 might not be good. A pair of C.O.'s now that would be ok, maybe one from 2 different batches?

The brewer at the brewpub was telling me that they taste test everything before they release it the following weekend. I was privy to whats next weekend and it doesn't seem CO is on the chopping block yet.

They used the same explanation I did to justify the cost so I'm sure they will make some sort of remedy if they do release CO to lessen the cost what with the 12oz and everything.

Two of them would be awesome though! One for drinking and one to send out for trade :grinning:
