Barrel Aged Beers

Bourbon County is the Major Leagues. Black Note and KBS are AAA. I've done numerous side by side tastings; it's never as close as folks make it out to be. Great effort, but doesn't compete.

Agree, I did KBS and BCBS side by side and BCBS blew it out of the water

 

BCBCS, Doom, and BA Old Rasputin. In that order. I did not enjoy BA Bigfoot (especially per $) BA Sexual Chocolate will always have a special place since it was my first.

 

I just did BCBCS against KBS and the GI smoked it. Both were delicious. But, the BCBCS is as good as any I've ever had. Incredible.

 

Bcbs' non BA equivalent is big John. Just no barrels and cocoa nibs added.

I suppose some might argue that I'm flat out wrong but after having both, big John tastes exactly like bcbs without the bourbon flavor.

 

If you don't mind me asking, what beer is worth 6$ a bottle to you?

 

Do you drink it with a cat? Do you drink it in a hat?

Aged Parabola > Fresh Parabola

Fresh BCBS > Aged BCBS

 

Sure, but it's not literally the base beer. The base beer is Cook County Stout, which is not commercially available. Big John is CCS... Aged on cacao nibs. Just as Night Stalker is dry hopped CCS.

 

Parabola has a lot of finesse, BCBS is a hammer, but I love them both, but the best BA Stout I've ever had was Eclipse EC 20. Absolutely stunning and a flawless BA Stout.

 

Try buying beer in Alberta, home of the $15 six-pack. You wouldn't believe how many craft brewed and imported singles are anywhere from six to thirteen dollars per bottle.
