Have some extra yeast around for that beer being transferred onto the yeast cake. 1.072 is kinda high to be reusing. Not saying it wont work, it'll probably be fine but that is a high OG for the purposes of reuse.

Thanks for the word of caution. I do have extra yeast and I'll make sure to keep a close eye on it.

I'll be joining a buddy, along with a couple others, for my first homebrewing session. Gunna bottle up a couple batches and brew two more. Not sure what to expect, but I'm excited.

No brewing for me. Will be transferring liquids between vessels a few times.

Checked the gravity on my imperial last night. It's down to 1.040 from 1.144. Hoping to squeeze another 10 points out of it.

So far so good. Pitched the new batch onto the yeast cake yesterday and had airlock activity within 30 minutes. I'm excited to see how this fermentation goes and again appreciate your word of caution.

I'm glad its taking off great! That's my favorite part about reusing yeast is that there is minimal lag time.

the red sounds great! BTW if you have a change to get the ECY Red like we talked about I would love a tube!

I brewed up 3 beers yesterday

    A Pink Muscat Sour Blonde
    A Wild fermented Kentucky Common
A Table Sour with the zest of 30# of Seville Oranges/Tangelos, that will get a tiny bit of light toast oak and vanilla

Very nice! I've been pondering a cranberry stout for thanksgiving or a figgy pudding (Cocoa nibs and figs) for Christmas/holiday season. You hold any classes in the North Shore, Lynn area?
