Will be in okc mañana with nothing to do. Where should I go to drink, buy bottles ect? Staying downtown and will have a car. I know I could have probably just used the search function but no one knows how to do it on the mountain board so.....
Not familiar with OKC, more with Tulsa. I am sure other Oklahoma guys will chime in. Though I have always enjoyed Marshall Brewing, Coop Ale Works, and of coarse Prairie Artisan. I know there is a James E. McNellie's in OKC. The one in Tulsa is among my favorite beer bars, so I would gander that is a great place to start. If they are like the Tulsa location, there will be a cask of Marshall's Pub Ale, one of my favorites.
I would hit up Freeman's liquor mart ( 4401 N Western Ave) for bottles. Should be able to find Prairie and other Oklahoma brews there.
For a bar you'll want Togo to tapwerks which is in brick town which is by downtown. Another good place is mcnellies in midtown. A close bottle shop is broadway wine merchants but I don't personally shop there so I'm not sure what they currently have. I recommend going to Mayfair liquor at 50th and may.
Having lunch at McNellies now, no Prairie on tap though. Will be here or at Tapwerks drinking tonight( no work til 2 pm tomorrow). I'll be the guy in the Crooked Stave shirt so come say high if you're around. May go check out a couple bottle shops this afternoon.
Yes, sir. Appreciate the suggestion. I wasn't expecting much when I pulled up but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in.
OKC: Sean's on Rockwell Ave. Freemans on Western Ave. Broadway Wine Merchants on Broadway Ave. Norman: Corkscrew Wine & Spirits on Linsdey St. Cellar Wine & Spirits on W. Main St. Cheers & Happy Hunting.
