Hog heaven

    Anyone tried cellaring this beer? I have one in basement and wondering how long to keep it.

    i had one cellared by a bar that was maybe 4 years old. thought it was outstanding.

    I believe somewhere on the bottle Ive seen, or possibly read from some other reliable source that it's cellarable for three years.

    Yet you've shown us that it can exceed this amount and be excellent, Ill be trying one of these soon.

    Pretty sure it was 1.5-2 years when I had it and it actually tasted like a barleywine.

    Fresh not so much...

    Had a pint of 1 year old Hog Heaven a few months ago. Simply amazing.

    I would let it sit for at least two years. Most hopped up American barleywines seem to go through an unappealing phase as the hops fall off IMHO.

    Yes, I have cellared back to 2008. Three years peak.

    I agree. Three years it's actually drinkable.
