Any OC BA's see this on shelves often? I have a buddy coming to visit and wanted him to grab a bottle or 3...just not sure how tough it is to get. I know Epic is in WA now but not this side.
OK cool, I called Hi-Time because it's near my buddy's house and the dude there said, "We got it in one time and then haven't seen it since." So I thought it might not be that accessible.
It's just the only coffee beer I've had that smells like I stuck my nose in a bag of freshly ground coffee. It's the most coffee forward beer that I know of by far(in a good way).
I try to avoid going to Hi-Times, not because of their beer selection, but because of their ultra douche-y beer employees. They treat Pliny like a Cantillon one-off release, and come off talking about beer as if they invented it.
Yeah, I left Huntington about 4 years ago right before I got into craft so I made a trip their for the first time when I visited earlier in the year. They had Pure Hoppiness which is what I was there for and and he asked me if I wanted a Pliny and I told him that I was good on Pliny. He was a little indignant and said, "That's the first time I've ever heard that." But that's the only time I've been there so I can't attest to any super douchiness.
I've only been there once, and didn't see anything on the floor I was interested in, so I asked the "bigger" guy working if they had anything in the "secret" cooler. He obliged and handed me an Alpine Nelson.
