    This caught my eye:

SeVIIn takes after the characteristics of these beers and other Belgian traditions. It is finished with Brettanomyces brewing yeast, commonly known as Brett. This yeast is known for the unique and slightly sour flavor profile it creates, which should add to the complex web of flavors promised in Surly's description of the new brew:

Anyone else know if they are actually using brett in Seviin?

Some of it was fermented with the same brett colony as is used for Pentagram. It was then blended with the beer that was traditionally fermented.

Will be interesting to sell how the bottles show up next week via a distributor vs previous deliveries delivered by Surly directly. I suspect it will be much different than past years. Same for pricing.

Just my luck. This is getting released on Monday and I will be headed to Chicago on Tuesday for the rest of the week. I will need to try to locate a bottle (or 2) on Monday before I leave. Anyone willing to send my a PM with a location that might get deliveries on Monday?

That was when Surly was self-distributing...I've been wondering what kind of different pattern may/will emerge now that there's a distributor. I always knew what date several shops near me rec'd their Surly shipments, now I'm going to have to wander around & gather up that intelligence again...

Sticking to their theme of going outside conventional beer styles, Surly presents SeVIIn, their seventh anniversary ale. This Belgian Strong Ale was brewed with rye, oats, and wheat as well as Belgian yeast and finished with Brett. This is Surly’s first ever beer brewed with wheat.
“Continuing our quest to despoil and desecrate conventional beer styles, we’re raiding Trappist traditions to produce this Belgian Style Ale brewed with Rye, Oats, and Wheat. Our first beer EVER brewed with wheat! Belgian yeast creates classic clove spiced banana aroma and flavor. Dry hopping brewing floral and citrus aromatics to the biscuity-smooth malt body.”
    Style: Belgian Strong Ale
    Availability: 750 mL bottles
    Arrival: June 23 2013
    ABV: 12.5%

Does anyone know what the price will be? How much was Syx?

I'd imagine the price point will be $16-25 depending on where you go. Rochester being the high side at $25.

it got released on Friday in Duluth for $23.99/$24.99 but then when I went to pick some up the following day all the stores had it moved off the floor until Monday because the distributor told them to hold it :-/

Price should be the same everywhere now I'd assume since its all from the distributor. No more cheaper Surly at self distributed liquor stores anymore. Betting it will be $22+ everywhere.
