The OJ IPA was off the chain by any chance did you get to try the Krieky Deeky from CIB? That was a great beer in my book !

No krieky deeky for me. Only had CIBs Morningwood Stout, which was the only beer of the fest I actually poured into the river. It was undrinkable to me. That brewery has yet to do a single thing to impress me. I guess they had a sour Brown at the state fair last year that was good, but other than that....oof. I heard from a few people the Orange Scorpion was good though.

Walter Payton? I would like a taste of assassin for knowing the best running back of all time! Long remember #34!

My brother got the Orange Scorpion and I had a sip as I am not into ghost chilies. It was one of the most interesting beers I have tasted in a long time. It wasn't bad and given the ingredients they were working with I have to say it was a well balanced and executed beer. I did avoid the sour stout as those are two things (in my book at least) that do not belong together at all ever! However I do respect them for experimenting is what craft beer is all about. I did see a lot of beer going into the river though which was sad because most folks there had no idea what they were drinking in the first place! After the VIP session was over I really enjoyed watching all the clueless folks trying all the crafty options that were there. My Favorite was when I heard a group of know nothings say " Hey lets go to the leinenkugel's booth there's no line there" Gee I wonder why?

I'm curious - did you ever get to voice your opinion to anyone from GRB?

Toppling Goliath...thank you for my two samples of Assassin. The beer is phenomenal...and #22, #23, and #28 are all valid discussions. Let's get to Ames already as there are a lot of eager beer "enthusiasts" wanting to try more of the fruits of your labor. Keep up the good work.

As for the rest of the festival...great beers all around (for the most part) and a solid showing by several of Iowa's brewers. And although I love my IPAs, it was great to see more focus on other styles I enjoy as well (saisons, etc.)

Had a great time as well. Guess I need the VIP ticket next year, as TG was pretty tapped by the time the gates opened at 2. Still got a taste of Assassin, though, which was awesome. 515's OJIPA was my second favorite of the fest. Excellent beer. Yeah, the CIB beer was nasty, and I also don't really respect distributed extract brewing. That's amateur hour, IMO.

Anyway, had lots of great beers from Iowa breweries and a few from non-Iowa ones too. Wish it had been a few degrees cooler, but I'll take the heat over pouring rain any day. Looking forward to next year already.

I would say Barry Sanders, or Jim Brown, but, I suspect you are looking for an answer of Marshall Faulk.
