Greetings. I am wanting to post a very large list of FT beers, and large ISO beers. However, I don't want to come across as trying to run an auction, yet I'm trying to do several larger trades involving my wants, rather than a ton of small trades so I'm not shipping out 10 boxes a week for 3 weeks. I'm looking for very specific bottles, and have listed very specific bottles. What is the best way for me to move forward and just get some great beer going both ways? Should I just post the massive ISO:FT? Sage advice from experienced traders is greatly appreciated.

Just post it and ignore the peanut gallery that might show up.

Easily done. I'm more partial to cashews.

I've taken to posting some examples of trades I'd be willing to do, i.e. FT Beers A and B, for ISO Beers X and Y. Hopefully my proposals are fair and show people that I'm not looking for an auction. Of course, you have to then follow through and accept such a deal if someone proposes it! Good luck.

WTF man? Do you want a bunch of responses to stroke you and tell you to post it? That's clearly what you are hoping for, so why don't you just go ahead and do it.

If you are a fair and reasonable trader, and your history and responses to offers show that this time, then you have nothing to worry about.

I'm not looking for a circle jerk agreement, but thank you for your advice. I would say my previous traders would back me up that I'm quite fair and reasonable to deal with. Cheers

If you're concerned about appearances, maybe stress that you're looking to stay $4$? If the relative rarity of the bottles have a wide swing, perhaps put the ISOs and FTs into groups?

There's a right way to do it and a wrong way to do it.

Right - FT: These 10 bottles, ISO: These 20 bottles, looking to do bigger trades only at $4$.

Wrong - FT: These 10 bottles, ISO: These 20 bottles or other great/rare stuff, send me offers

It's subtle, but the intent is usually pretty clear.

Ultimately you won't be judged on your ISO so much as your dealings with others via BM. If you say $4$ and try to start bending people over in negotiations, it won't reflect well.

    Agree with this completely.

And I'll be the first (but likely not only) person to step forward and vouch for the excessive generosity Clonies shows as a trader. The guy is a Grade A advocate

Thanks! This is the advice I was looking for. I'd be happy to bring a free Texas beer for you when I come to MA in mid-August. BM me if you wanna work out details. Cheers!

Thanks Ken! You're awesome yourself. Set a great example for me

Just please don't put the title as FT: List ISO: List. That's incredibly annoying. It may be accurate, but give at least a beer or two as an example and say more inside.

Too late :flushed:. After I complete the trades I agred to last night, I'll start throwing out targeted FT:ISO's since now I"ll know what I have left to work with. Thanks!
