Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout at $8.99 a six pack is a steal for a quality coffee stout.

.. I think Rampant is pretty good, nothing spectacular, but definitely a nice change of pace when talking about DIPAs.

Someone needs to send me a bottle of this. I've heard great things, numerous times.

I used to be able to get super fresh Smuttynose IPA for $10-$11 a 12-pack at Gary's in Portsmouth, NH. Best deal going, IMO.

Surprised no one has mentioned Maximus or ST 2IPA.

Really? I love Sue but a 6 dollar bomber of APA isn't a particularly good value. And I think Sosus is better.

nope 7.50 for a 6 pack at tw that's 9.6oz per dollar. wolf among weeds is close at 7.11 oz per dollar. can't think of any other dipa that are as good of a value

I think Rampant is very good.... saw a local bartender give a taste to three guys, only telling them it was a dIPA.. they all really liked it and ordered one... then he told them it was Rampant... they were surprised.. but like any of the successfully grown bigger craft companies, they get knocked by some for not being cool enough.

I've never had an NB beer and thought it was bad... I don't love them or buy them all, but I am never disappointed when drinking them.

Rampant is truly a very good deal.

YUP. when this is available, it's the everyday ipa for me. otherwise, i go back to 13.99 for sixers of sculpin.

This Is exactly how I feel.

Not saying Rampant is my favorite beer. Its not.. I'm more saying that, when I end up at the grocery store because the bottle shop is closed, Im pretty happy to see Rampant on the shelf.

haha too be fair to you the OP didn't pose his question as "the best value in DIPAs."

But if that's the question-- I'd pay $1 more for a sixer of Steelhead Double IPA over Rampant. It's still a value and I can drink it.

I think there's something going on with Rampant -- there must be something about the malt or hopping that creates the kind of duality of flavor perception found in cilantro, ie: some people claim it tastes like the most foul thing they have ever tasted, and using language that doesn't in any way describe what the rest of us are tasting. It's possible to dislike it if you don't get the foul flavor, but the only people who really hate it are just describing flavors and aromas that aren't coming through for me.

I, personally, thought that Rampant was a below average DIPA. I wouldn't pay to drnk it again.

There are a lot better DIPA deals out there. Sucks, Hop Stoopid, Maximus, and Palate Wrecker are my "best deal, commonly on shelf" DIPA's

Regardless of your intake and interest, you were correct, he never said anywhere the best DIPA deal, so it looks lke you have (or have not) had a few beers and still won.

I'd say hop Stoopid is right with rampant. Except here in Illinois I only see it in bombers. That ticks me off. A beer so accessible should be sold in 6 packs. Get with the program Lagunitas! They sell everything else in 12 OZs but Hop Stoopid, Ill never understand.

I totally agree, I'd love to see them make 6 or 12 packs of it. Soon Sucks won't be in 12 oz format though which obviously... Sucks. They only put the Cappuccino Stout, Lucky 13.alt and Mondo in 22 oz format.

On the west coast you can usually find a six pack of Pyramid's Outburst double IPA on sale for 6-7 dollars.
